Hello!

A really quick post! I didn't want to miss the chance to participate in the "Share your project to win..." contest that Scrapbookpal.com is having this month. This last weeks of February the contest was to use one or more Spellbinders item. I used in this card the "Standard Circles Large" die to die cut with my Cuttlebug the circles in my card. As you know, I like to make most of my cards with the CAS style and this one is not the exception. The sentiment stamp is from Latina Crafter. I'll also enter it to the Simon Says anything goes with pearls.

¡Una corta entrada! No quería perder la oportunidad de participar en la competencia de "Share your project to win..." de Scrapbookpal.com este mes. En las últimas semanas de febrero el reto consiste en usar productos de "Spellbinders" para tu proyecto. Use el set de troqueles "Standard Circles Large" para cortar usando mi "Cuttlebug" los círculos de la tarjeta. Como saben, me gusta el estilo CAS y esta tarjeta no es la excepción. Hello!!!

I've been quiet this week since I've been super busy preparing for my class this Sunday on the 2nd Scrapbook Convention in Puerto Rico. For details about that, go HERE. I'm excited and nervous! Well, today's card is quite special. A new bundle of joy is on the way. Not me, btw... The family is very excited! I'm entering this card the Lawnscaping Challenges #76: Dust 'em off since I used a stamp set I haven't used in months, Lawn Fawn's "Plus one" and those Bella Blvd papers have been on my stash for quite a while too. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a  Lawnscaping Challenges #76: Dust 'em off pues este set de sellos hace meses que no lo utilize, "Plus One" de Lawn Fawn y esos papeles de diseño de Bella Blvd llevan algún tiempo en mi almacen. ¡Hola!

Hoy les presento una tarjeta con un mensaje muy bonito. A veces es difícil expresarle a alguien que uno aprecia y quiere que pueden contar con el apoyo de uno. ¡Pues esta tarjeta hace la tarea más fácil! Todos conocemos a alguien que está pasando por una situación difícil. Esta tarjeta es como la palmadita en la espalda que dice "no estas sol@".  Me inspire en la canción "Heart and Shoulder" de Heather Nova. Esa canción me encanta desde la primera vez que la escuche allá para los tiempos de "Dawson's Creek".  Utilicé Lawn Fawn stamps, Copics, alfiler,  y "Crystal effects" de Stampin Up para las gotas de agua. Recuerden: NUNCA estamos solos ;) Entraré esta tarjeta a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges 75: Dots and Hearts ya que tiene puntos y está hecha con amor <3!

Today's card has a pretty message. Sometimes is hard to express to somebody you care about that they can count on you. This card makes it easy to say. It says it for you! Everybody knows somebody that is going through some tough times. This card is like that  pat in the shoulder that says "It'll be alright". I was inspired by the song "Heart and Shoulder" from Heather Nova. I love this song since the first time I heard it back in the Dawson's Creek days. I used Lawn Fawn stamps, Copics, pin, and Crystal Effects for the rain drops. Remember: We are NEVER alone ;) I'll enter this one to

More Dots and Hearts

I'm bringing you more Dots and Hearts today. Today's card is my second entry for Lawnscaping Challenges #75: Dots and Hearts. I wanted to make a card combining traditional Valentine's day colors with non-traditional Valentine's day colors. I found this patterned paper in my stash that's perfect. Orange and yellow are not usually used for Valentine's day. I used Lawn Cuts "Puffy Star Stackables" and "Circle Stackables" on black cardstock. Then heat embossed with white embossing powder the sentiment that is from "Lucky Stars" stamp set. I Copic colored the owls (Critters in the Forest) and die cut with the coordinating Lawn Cut. I used a paper punch for the heart. The "I love you" is from the "Good Fortune" set. I used some Doodlebug Design Sprinkles for the finishing touch. Hoy les traigo más puntos y corazones. La tarjeta de hoy es mi segunda entrada a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges #75: Dots and Hearts. Yo quería hacer una tarjeta que combinara colores tradicionales de San Valentín con colores no-tradicionales. Encontré este papel de diseño entre mis papeles que me pareció perfecto. El anaranjado y amarillo no son colores tradicionalmente usados para San Valentín. Usé los troqueles de Lawn Fawn, Lawn Cuts "Puffy Star Stackables" y "Circle Stackables" en cartulina negra. Luego con la técnica de "heat embossing" y "embossing powder" blanco estampé el pensamiento del set "Lucky Stars". Coloreé con Copics los buhos (Critters in the Forest) y los corté con el troquel en coordinación. Usé un ponchador de papel para cortar el corazón. El "I love you" es del set "Good Fortune" también de Lawn Fawn. Para completer la tarjeta, coloque "sprinkles" de Doodlebug Designs. Los veo mañana en la segunda entrada de la serie "Inspired".

Scrapbook Convention

¡Hola!

Con mucha alegría les traigo información de la 2da Convención de Scrapbook de Puerto Rico auspiciada por la Revista Papeles y Más. Esta sera el 23 de febrero en el Centro de Convenciones de Puerto Rico. Allí estaran casi todas las tiendas de scrapbook de Puerto Rico entre otras tiendas de arte y nosotras, el equipo de diseño de la revista. Habrán muchas clases a escoger tanto de las tiendas como del equipo de diseño. Me place decirles que estaré ofreciendo por primera vez una clase en este tipo de evento. Mi clase está titulada "Regalitos para ti" a las 2:15pm. Aprenderán a hacer una bolsita para echar regalitos, un "wine tag" que realmente sirve para cualquier tipo de botella, una postal con bolsillo para tarjetas de regalo y vamos a reciclar un pote de comida para bebé. Aprenderán técnicas nuevas y muchos truquitos. Les va a encantar. La clase tendrá un costo de $25 a ser pagados en la entrada o el "booth" del DT en la Convención. Para la clase deben llevar: guillotina, score board y bone folder, pega, 3D dots, tinta negra, tinta para distress marrón, acrílico para sellos ("stamps") y Tijeras. Si no tienes alguno de estos, no te preocupes por que allí mismo tendras las tiendas para adquirirlos. La clase incluye el resto de los materiales incluyendo un sello de la línea Unity Stamp Co. Para reservar tu espacio, me pueden enviar mensaje a mi página Maia Ink. Solo habrán 30 espacios disponibles. ¡¡¡Los espero!!! Abajo pueden ver un "preview" de la clase, el itinerario de clases y el anuncio de la convención.

I'm so happy to share with you news about the 2nd Scrapbook Convention in Puerto Rico hosted by Revista Papeles y Más . It will be on February 23rd in the Puerto Rico Convention Center. Almost all the local scrapbook stores will be there under the same roof selling all their wonderful goodies. A local art supply store will also be there and of course US, the magazine's DT. I'm so happy to announce that I'll be teaching a class for the first time ever at this type of event. I'm so excited. My class is called "Gifts for you" and will be held at 2:15pm. You'll learn to make a cute paper bag for a small gifts, a wine tag that can be use in any kind of bottle actually, a gift card holder and we will be upcycling a baby food jar. You'll learn new techniques and tricks. You'll love it! The class' cost is $25 to be paid at the entrance or the DT booth. For the class you must bring your basic tools: scissors, glue, 3D dots, trimmer, scorer and bone folder, black ink, brown ink for distressing, and an acrylic block for stamps. If you don't have any of those, don't worry because the stores will be there. Class includes the materials including a stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. To save your space please PM me on my FB page Maia Ink. There will be only 30 kits available so hurry up. I hope to see you guys there. In the previews pics you can see a preview of the class, the class itinerary and the flyer for the Convention.

Continuamos con las tarjetas de amor. Hoy les traigo una que me encanta. Utilicé los Lawn Cuts de Lawn Fawn (Cole's ABCs) y el sello es de Latina Crafter. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Cut it Up Challenge #38: Valentine's Day. Es la primera vez que participo en esta competencia, asi que suerte para mi. ;) Más tarde hoy, estaré publicando detalles sobre mi clase en la 2da Convención de Scrapbook de PR.

More Valentine's Day cards! I really like today's card. I used Lawn Cuts dies (Cole's ABCs from Lawn Fawn) for the "Te Amo" and the sentiment stamp is from Latina Crafter. I'll enter this one to Cut it Up Challenge #38: Valentine's Day. It's my first time participating in this challenge so "good luck" to me! ;) Later I'll be posting details of the class I'll be teaching at the 2nd Scrapbook Convention of PR.

Dots & Hearts

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Today's card was inspired by Lawnscaping Challenge 75:Dots and hearts in which you have to use dots, hearts or both in your creation. I used the Cole's ABCs Lawn Cuts to die cut on glitter cardstock the letters for "TE AMO" which means "I love you" in Spanish. I wanted to make balloons out of the letters for Mr. Fox to hold. The fox is from the "Critters in the Forest" stamp set and I used the coordinating Lawn Cuts die for it. It is colored with Copics. The clouds are from the "Blues Skies" set. I stamped them in white cardstock then dry embossed it using the Cuttlebug and the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder. The sky is colored with Distress inks (Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans). I'll also enter this one to the Simon Says Monday Challenge: Love Note.

Espero que todos estén disfrutando del fin de semana. La tarjeta de hoy está inspirada en la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenge 75:Dots and hearts en la cual se debe incluir corazones, puntos o ambos al proyecto. Usé el troquel de Cole's ABCs Lawn Cuts para cortar las letras en cartulina escarchada. Quería hacer globos de las letras para que el Sr. Zorro las aguantara. El zorro es del set "Critters in the Forest" el cual corté utilizando el troquel en coordinación. Utilicé Copics para colorearlo. Las nubes son del set "Blue Skies". Las estampé en cartulina blanca y luego hice "dry embossing" con "Swiss dots embossing folder" y el "Cuttlebug". El cielo está coloreado con "Distress inks" (Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans). Estaré entrando esta tarjeta también a la competencia de  Simon Says Monday Challenge: Love Note.

¡Al fin viernes!

Hoy les traigo otra tarjeta que hice con el set "A jar full of sweetness" de Unity Stamp Co. Como ya les dije, este set me encanta. Es muy versátil. Los papeles de diseño son de "Carta Bella: Devoted". Hice la técnica de "masking" para estampar las jarras y coloreé las imágenes con Copics. Recuerden dejar un comentario para la oportunidad de ganar premios de nuestros amigos de Unity Stamp Co. Friday at last!

I made another card using the "A jar full of Sweetness" from Unity Stamp Co. As I mentioned before, I love this set! It's so versatile. The design paper is from Carta Bella:Devoted. I did some masking technique for the jars and colored the images with Copics. Remember to leave a comment for a chance to win stamps from our friends Unity Stamp Co. Hope you like it! ¡Hola!

Hoy les traigo otra tarjetita llena de amor. La imagen es de la línea de sellos Stamp.a.Hoot, y se llama "Gifts just for you". La técnica del fondo es inspirada en este tutorial que utiliza los Distress Inks y agua para estampar. Olvidé usar "watercolor paper" así que no quedó como quería pero de todos modos me gustó el resultado así que decidí usarlo. ¡Tengo que volver a intentarlo! Los otros sellos son de Latina Crafter. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love Note. ¡Hasta mañana!

Today's card is filled with love. That cute boy is from the stamp line Stamp.a.Hoot and it is called "Gifts just for you". The technique for the background is inspired by this tutorial that uses water to stamp. I forgot to use watercolor paper so I didn't get the effect as I wanted but still I liked how it turned out so I used it. I have to try again! The sentiment stamps are from Latina Crafter. I'll enter this card to  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love Note. See you tomorrow!

Upcycle

Today's post is the first of another new section of my blog called "Upcycled". In this series, I'll make new use of things that would have otherwise be trash. There are tons of ideas online to be inspired. I hope you get inspired by me too. Well, this first project was also inspired by a friend and also a DT member of the Revista Papeles y Más magazine, Scrapper Myra. I loved the idea and decided to make one this year. The jar is an upcycled pasta sauce jar. I used Scotch's washi tape to cover the lid and decorate the jar. In the tag, I used Unity Stamp Co stamps, chipboard numbers from Bella Blvd, Distress inks, clear embossing powder, twine and a stapler. The idea behind the jar is to put little notes in it with thoughts and reminders of the good things that happened to you through out the whole year. At the end of the year, you open it and remember all the good things that happened. It's like counting your blessings at the end of the year. I love the idea!!! This jar WILL be full!!!

La entrada de hoy es la primera de otra nueva sección que se llamará "Upcycled". En esta serie, haré nuevo uso de objetos que ya fueron utilizados. ¡A darle nueva vida a la basura! Hay muchas ideas en el internet para inspirarse. Espero que también se sientan inspirados por mi. Bueno, este proyecto en particular fue también inspirado por una nueva amiga y también parte del equipo de diseño de la revista Papeles y Más, Scrapper Myra. Me gusto mucho la idea así que decidí hacer uno este año. El frasco era de una salsa para pastas. Utilicé  "washi tape" de la marca Scotch para cubrir la tapa del frasco. Para el "tag"usé sellos de Unity Stamp Co, números en carton de Bella Blvd, "Distress Inks", "clear embossing powder", hilo y grapas. La idea detrás del frasco es escribir en papelitos grandes acontecimientos, logros y todo lo bueno que te pase durante el año y colocarlos dentro del frasco. Al finalizar el año, lo abres y lees todo lo bueno que te pasó durante el pasado año. Es una buena manera de recorder y contar las bendiciones. De veras que me encanta la idea. ¡Declaro que mi frasco estará lleno! :)

Hello everyone!

I've been very busy making Valentine's day cards and getting ready for the 2nd Scrapbook Convention hosted by Revista Papeles y Más in which I'll be teaching a class. More details about that soon! I loved this stamp set from Unity Stamp Co from the first time I saw it and I HAD to have it. I made this CAS card using it! I masked the lid with washi tape when I stamped the jar. Then inked only the lid and stamped it beside it. I used Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, Copics, rhinestones, red ribbon and a stapler for the final touch. I'll enter this one in the following challenges: CASology: Week 81: And, & CAS-ual Fridays:CFC 127: Over the edge.

He estado bien ocupada haciendo postales de San Valentín y preparándome para la 2da Convención de Scrapbook auspiciada por la  Revista Papeles y Más en la cual estaré enseñando una clase. ¡Pronto, más detalles al respecto! Tan pronto ví este set de sellos de Unity Stamp Co supe que TENIA que tenerlo. Hice una tarjeta CAS con el set. Tapé la parte de la tapa de la jarra con "washi tape" cuando la estampé. Luego puse tinta solo en la tapa para estamparla al lado de la jarra. Utilicé tinta de Memento Ink en Tuxedo Black, Copics, rhinestones, cinta roja y una grapadora para darle el toque final. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a las siguientes competencias: CASology: Week 81: And, & CAS-ual Fridays:CFC 127: Over the edge.

DIY Stencil

This is my second post today and a short one. Today we had a DT meeting for the Papeles y Más magazine. We had a card swap! So many beautiful creations! This was my card. I made myself the stencil using the Cricut and heavy cardstock and I also used color mists I also made myself. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co.

Este es mi segunda entrada del día y una cortita. Hoy, tuvimos reunión del equipo de diseño de la revista Papeles y Más. Tuvimos un intercambio de tarjetas. ¡Todas estaban hermosas! Esta fue mi tarjeta. Use un stencil que hice yo misma con la Cricut y "cardstock" grueso y también use colores en aereosol que yo misma prepare. El sello es de Unity Stamp Co.

¡Hola!

Hoy les presento una tarjetita de San Valentín que hice con sellos de Lawn Fawn. Este set, tan pronto lo ví, me encantó. Estudié ciencias así que es inevitable que me guste tanto. Soy una "nerd", lo confieso. Le dí color a las imágenes con Copics. El fondo de la tarjeta lo hice probando unos "mists" de color que hice y me encantó el resultado. Pronto les comparto un tutorial. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en la competencias: CASology:Week 80: Purple. y Simon Says Anything goes:With Twine or String.

Today's card is a Valentine's day card I made with Lawn Fawn stamps. As soon as I saw this set, I fell in love with it. I studied Sciences so it was impossible not to love it. I'm a nerd, I admit it. I colored the images with Copics. The background was created with color mists that I did myself and I loved the result. I'll share a tutorial soon. I'll enter this card to CASology's Week 80: Purple and Simon Says Anything goes:With Twine or String.
