So glad you are joining us on this wonderful Growing in Unity hop from Unity Stamp Company. You should be coming from Vicky's blog. I made a few cards for today's hop since I've had a lot of time to craft these past days. More on that later... Today's 1st card is a bday card. I used the sets "Her Day" and "Your are This". I used regular Crayola coloring pencils to color it (which are about 20 years old!). I had an awesome time making this one since I crafted with my 4 year old son. He did his version. I only helped coloring the flowers.

This second card, didn't go as I wanted. Made some technique mistakes: I over inked the stamps, I didn't let the Distress Inks dry completely before heat embossing and well, did you know that embossing powders expire??? Well, it does! So my white embossing powder is in the trash right now! Anyway, why publish the card? For what it means. That sentiment from the set "Storms make deeper Roots" has a special meaning. I live in Puerto Rico. If you haven't seen it in the news, we were hit with back to back Cat 5 hurricanes. Hurricane Irma didn't do too much damage although some people lost their homes. But hurricane María hit us hard. So many people lost their homes, workplaces, churches, schools, etc. Our green scenery is not that green anymore. It is day 17 since the hurricane hit us and only about 10% of the island has electricity and about 50% water service. Communications were down on the entire island. I have internet service just a few hours a day from a land line and using a power generator. The point is: my island will be stronger after this for sure! A lot of help is coming from the outside but it has been so slow. I you wish to help, there are many ways. I wont recommend any specific. My son wanted to do a card using the same sentiment. On this one I only helped with the heating tool for the embossing.
