So glad you are joining us on this wonderful Growing in Unity hop from Unity Stamp Company. You should be coming from Vicky's blog. I made a few cards for today's hop since I've had a lot of time to craft these past days. More on that later... Today's 1st card is a bday card. I used the sets "Her Day" and "Your are This". I used regular Crayola coloring pencils to color it (which are about 20 years old!). I had an awesome time making this one since I crafted with my 4 year old son. He did his version. I only helped coloring the flowers.

This second card, didn't go as I wanted. Made some technique mistakes: I over inked the stamps, I didn't let the Distress Inks dry completely before heat embossing and well, did you know that embossing powders expire??? Well, it does! So my white embossing powder is in the trash right now! Anyway, why publish the card? For what it means. That sentiment from the set "Storms make deeper Roots" has a special meaning. I live in Puerto Rico. If you haven't seen it in the news, we were hit with back to back Cat 5 hurricanes. Hurricane Irma didn't do too much damage although some people lost their homes. But hurricane María hit us hard. So many people lost their homes, workplaces, churches, schools, etc. Our green scenery is not that green anymore. It is day 17 since the hurricane hit us and only about 10% of the island has electricity and about 50% water service. Communications were down on the entire island. I have internet service just a few hours a day from a land line and using a power generator. The point is: my island will be stronger after this for sure! A lot of help is coming from the outside but it has been so slow. I you wish to help, there are many ways. I wont recommend any specific. My son wanted to do a card using the same sentiment. On this one I only helped with the heating tool for the embossing.

I didn’t know embossing inks expire. It is still a beautiful piece. Nice use of color also!

Love them all!! fabulous cards!!
So cute your son is coloring along!! His coloring looks great!!
These are great cards because of how you made them. I'm sending you courage and deep thoughts from France to you and your family, Marjorie
If you made mistakes then mine are trash. Lol. Yours are simply gorgeous! Well done. Blessings to you and your family and all in PR that are struggling at this time.
Beautiful cards Anya! I love that your son crafts with you. He did a great job on his cards!
Well, first of all - JT is totally adorable! He can come color with me anytime! I think each of your cards are wonderful! I sure don't see any mistakes :) Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in PR. In 1999, my husband was there on a job assignment, and we had an amazing Puerto Rican crew. We've worried so about them - have lost track over the years, and don't know if this has left them homeless, jobless, etc. Prayers to all.
Good job both of you!!!
I'm sorry for your country is going thru. Have been praying for the whole situation. I love that your son is helping you! Your cards turned out great!
Hello Anya! Lovely cards. I love the floral border on the first card and that your son got crafty too.
I'm sorry for all your troubles with the hurricanes. In the middle of an island there is no where to hide. I hope things turn around real soon for all the people who live on your island. Your cards are lovely and your son did an amazing job on his. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Your cards are beautiful for the love that has gone into them and for the strength and courage you have, to support your family and share your joy in card-making with them. Sending prayers to you - my church prayed for all of Puerto Rico yesterday.
How fun to have your son craft with you. I so miss that time. Mine is a teenager and does not want anything to do with crafting these days. Your son did a fabulous job coloring. Thanks for sharing your projects.
I love the Angie girls and your card is awesome. It was nice to see you creating with your son. I think it's amazing you took the time to create and blog with everything you're going through. All the best to you and Puerto Rico.

Love your cards and that your son helped 😊 I sure hope that things get better on the island I saw pictures, glad you and your family are ok after that! 💕
Wonderful cards Anya ... such a postive attitude you are showing despite everything that is going on with your little part of the world. Good for you, life is too short to focus on the negative. Being positive and proactive is what gets things done! Hang in there!
Thanks for sharing!

Bless you for making the great effort to participate in this blog hop. Your cards are great and the sentiment hits home for sure! Hoping life returns to “normal” soon!
I love, love, love how you tied the roses to the edge of the card.....stunning and very clever!
Wow! Stunning cards and colouring!!! Love them!!!
Beautiful cards! I can honestly say I've never had any embossing powders go bad (and some of mine are 20 yrs. old). I think they must affected by climate and humidity. Sorry yours went bad, although it's a good excuse to try new versions - maybe buy a couple of extra colors!
Pretty card! Love the shaped edge!
