Hello!

I got some crafting time in my new craft room! Yeay!!!! So happy with my new space. Anyway, I made a few birthday cards I needed. This one is for a cute princess who turned 9 last Sunday. I know she loved it. The dress and the crown are from Lawn Fawn. The die for the crown is also from them. I paper pieced the dress with that cute pink and white polka dot paper from Echo Park paper. The castle is from a stamp set I got a while ago at Michaels. The "Happy" die is from Avery Elle. I used that gold glitter cardstock that I love so much!!!! I also paper pieced some of the parts from the castle and the crown. The other parts I used Copic Markers. I added sequins to complete this card which to be honest, I almost (ALMOST) didn't give away because I loved it so much. The dilemmas of a paper crafter... I'll enter it to the following challenges: Cut It Up Challenge #70: Paper piecing, Simon Wednesday Challenge: Let's get Sentimetal and Sparkle and Shine Challenge: Inspiration Photo.

¡Al fin pude estrenar bien mi Nuevo espacio de trabajo! Me gusta mucho pues estoy mucho más cómoda. Tuve la oportunidad de hacer varias tarjetas de cumpleaños que necesitaba. Esta tarjeta es para una princesa que cumplió 9 años este pasado domingo. Estoy segura que le encantó su tarjeta. La imagen del traje y la corona son de sellos de Lawn Fawn. El troquel de la corona también es de ellos. Hice la técnica de "paper piecing" para el traje con un lindo papel rosa y puntos blancos de la línea de Echo Park Paper. El Castillo es de un set que adquirí hace ya algún tiempo en la tienda Michaels. El troquel de "Happy" es de la línea de Avery Elle. También usé la técnica de "paper piecing" para algunas parte del Castillo y la corona. Para las restantes, usé marcadores Copics. Añadí lentejuelas para completar la tarjeta que les aseguro que casi (CASI) no regalo de lo mucho me gusto. Estos son los dilemas de nosotr@s los artesanos... El pasado sábado se celebró el Día Nacional del Scrapbooking. Tuve la oportunidad de participar en uno de los retos que ofrecía Latina Crafter ese día. En total se hicieron 4 retos ese día. Por suerte me encontraba en mi taller y pude hacer esta tarjeta rapidito. Participé en el reto #2: ¿Qué es el scrapbook para tí? Era proyecto libre y lo mas rápido que se me ocurrió fue una tarjeta y así lo hice. Espero les guste!

Last Saturday it was National Scrapbooking Day. I had the chance to participate in one of the challenges offered by Latina Crafter that day. In total, there were 4 challenges. I was lucky to be near my craftroom so I wiped up this card quickly. I competed in Challenge #2: Tell us what scrapbooking means to you? It was an "anything goes" challenge so of course I made a card. I hope you guys like it!

Hi!!!!

Finally back again posting! I've quite busy this past two months. One of the many reasons I haven't been able to craft at all these past weeks is because I moved my craft room to another room in the house. If you have had to do this, you understand. ;) Anyway, I made this card for my dad who recently had a surgery (another reason). I made it so my baby boy could give it to his granddaddy. I followed the sketch for the current Lawnscaping Challenges. We really do hope he has a speedy recovery. I'll start crafting again weekly if everything goes as planned.

¡Por fin de vuelta escribiendo! He estado muy ocupada en los pasados dos meses. Una de las razones por las cuales no he podido crear es porque mudé mi taller de un cuarto a otro. Tremenda tarea pero al fin terminé. Si han tenido que mudar su cuarto, de seguro me entienden. ;) Hice esta tarjeta para mi papá que recientemente fue operado (otra razón). Le dí la tarjeta a mi niño para que se la diera a su adorado abuelito. Seguí el diseño de la competencia actual de Lawnscaping Challenges. Realmente esperamos que tenga una pronta recuperación. Estaré ya poco a poco trabajando semanalmente para traerles proyectos nuevos.

A little sparkle/Un poco de brillo

Today, I'm showing you a layout I made using the paper collection Jubilee from My Mind's Eye. I love my son's smile in this pic. I started by splashing some Distress Paint on white cardstock. I loved the effect so you'll see this again in other projects for sure. I used some of the coordinating chipboards from the collection some of which I added Glossy Accents for dimension. To add a little sparkle, I used sequins and gold glitter glue. I don't make a lot of layouts but for me, this one turned out beautiful. It's proudly displayed in my room at the moment. I'll add this project to the first Sparkle and Shine Challenge. As you can see, the inspiration pic is a four leaf clover. I was inspired on how lucky I am to have the cutest little boy ever! Plus, the leaves look like hearts which are present through out the projects as does some hints of green ;)

Hoy les maestro un "layout" que hice con la colección de papeles de "My Mind's Eye" llamada Jubilee. Me encanta la sonrisa de mi hijo en esta foto así que quería guardar este recuerdo en un "layout". Lo primero que hice fue salpicar color con Distress Paints en cartulina blanca. Me encantó el efecto asi que de seguro verán de nuevo esta técnica en otros trabajos. Usé los "chipboards" que coordinan con la colección a los cuales le añadí "Glossy Accents" a algunos para darles más dimensión. Para añadir un poco de brillo, usé lentejuelas y pega de brillo dorada. No suelo hacer "layouts", pero para mi, este quedó muy bonito. Está en estos momentos en un marco en exhibición en mi cuarto. Estaré añadiendo este proyecto a la primera competencia de  Sparkle and Shine Challenge. Como pueden ver, la foto de inspiración es un trebol de cuatro hojas. Me inspiré en la suerte y bendición que tengo de tener al niño más hermoso del mundo. En adición, las hojas del trebol parecen corazones los cuales pueden ver presente en el proyecto conjunto a unos toques de color verde.
