It's Friday!
Finally the weekend is here and I'm excited. I have a Christmas cards class that I'm teaching at my local scrapbooking store tomorrow and have great plans for Sunday too. I made today's card for the current Runway Inspired Challenge: RIC #95: Marchesa Notte. It's not a color combo that I would usually use but some how I was drawn to it . I use a stencil and Distress Inks for the background. The little flowers were done using white cardstock. I colored it with Distress Paint. I wanted a swirled effect of the color against the white cardstock . It's a bit hard to photograph but it is there. The color did not turned out as dark as I wanted since I sprayed it with water but I liked how it turned out. I added a bit gold thread just because I love it so much. The sentiment stamp is from Latina Crafter.

Al fin llega el fin de semana. Este será uno lleno de actividades. El sábado estaré dando una clase de tarjetas de Navidad en una tienda local de scrapbook y tengo ya super planes para el domingo también. La tarjeta que les presento hoy la hice para el reto actual de Runway Inspired Challenge: RIC #95: Marchesa Notte. La combinación de colores es una que usualmente no usaría pero esta en particular me llamó la atención. Usé un "stencil" y "Distress Ink" para el fondo. Las pequeñas flores fueron hechas con cartulina blanca que pinté con "Distress Paint". Quería un efecto marmoleado en ellas así que rocié el papel con agua y luego de seco, corté las flores con ponchador. Es difícil de ver en la foto, pero está ahí. Añadí hilo dorado porque me encanta el toque que dá a las tarjetas. El sello es de Latina Crafter.

¡Hola!

Espero que estén disfrutando de su fin de semana al igual que yo. Hoy les traigo una tarjeta de cumpleaños con sellos y troqueles de Lawn Fawn. Una de mis técnicas favoritas es el "emboss-resist" con "heat embossing" y que mejor que usar "Distress Inks" para esto. Las estrellas, la luna y la luz del faro están todos realizados con esta técnica. Esta tarjeta la hice para el cumpleaños de mi padrino. A él y su familia, al igual que a la mía, les encanta acampar. Este set de sellos era el perfecto para la tarjeta. El faro lo coloqué en alusión al nombre de el lugar donde ellos tienen su tráiler, Faro del Mar, y la imagen del tráiler tiene las iniciales "VT" en referencia al nombre del suyo, Villa Terapia.  Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a los siguientes retos: Lawnscaping Challenges: Embossing y Cut it up Challenge: Old School.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Today's card is a birthday card with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. One of my favorite techniques to do is emboss-resist with heat embossing and the best way for me to do it is with Distress Inks. The moon, stars and the light of the lighthouse are all heat embossed.  I did this card for my Godfather's birthday. He and his family, like mine, love to camp. This stamp sets were perfect for the theme. The lighthouse is in reference to the name of the place they have their camping trailer and the camping trailer itself has the initials "VT" in reference to its name, Villa Terapia. I'll enter this card to the following challenges: Lawnscaping Challenges: Embossing & Cut it up Challenge: Old School.

Esta es mi segunda entrada del día. Esta tarjeta que les presento, la hice en un momentito que pude escaparme a mi taller. Estaba loca por participar en algunas competencias de las que sigo. En serio, que ya no aguantaba más. Combiné varias competencias para esta tarjeta. Los colores que utilicé están inspirados en la foto del reto de Runway Inspired Challenges RIC#89. Tan pronto ví la foto y sus colores pensé FLAMINGO. La imagen es de este set de Unity Stamp Co. Me encanta este set. Ya lo he usado en varias tarjetas. El flamingo lo coloreé con Copics. El patrón de "chevrons" fue hecho con un set de Latina Crafter con tinta negra al igual que el mensaje de "Feliz Cumpleaños". Por eso la tarjeta también la entraré en el reto de CAS-ual Fridays CFC142: Pretty Patterns. El flamingo se podría considerar un animal acuático ya que pasan mucho tiempo parados en el agua, así que entraré la tarjeta en el reto de CASology: Week 159: aquatic. Completé en diseño con lentejuelas plateadas siguiendo el esquema de colores de Runway Inspired Challenge.

This is my second entry of the day. I made this card also on a little break I had to escape to my craft room and play a little bit. I just couldn't wait any longer to enter some of the challenges I follow. I really couldn't! I combined 3 challenges on this card. The color combo for this card was inspired by the inspiration photo of the Runway Inspired Challenges RIC#89. As soon I saw the picture I thought FLAMINGO. The image is from this Unity Stamp Co set which I LOVE! I've done a few cards using it already. I colored the flamingo with Copics. The chevron pattern was done with a set from "Latina Crafter" stamps, as well as the sentiment, using black ink. Because of the pattern I created, I'm entering it too to the  CAS-ual Fridays CFC142: Pretty Patterns challenge. The flamingo could be considered an aquatic animal since they spend a LOT of time in water, so I'm also entering it to the  CASology: Week 159: aquatic. challenge. I complete the design with some silver sequins following the color combo of the Runway Inspired Challenge.

Hoy les traigo una tarjeta sencilla pero hermosa para cumpleaños. En esta tarjeta quise capturar la personalidad de quien recibiría la tarjeta y creo que lo logré. Para el fondo, use un "embossing folder" de Cuttlebug el cual tiene un patrón repetitivo muy bonito. Los sellos son de "Neat and Tangled". Para dar un punto de enfoque en el regalo, estampé varias veces el sello aplicando tinta cada vez para que el color fuera intenso. El lazo plateado fue resaltado con la técnica de "heat embossing" con polvo plateado. Estos dos pasos los hice sobre cartulina blanca que luego corté con un troquel circular. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en los siguientes retos: CASology: Week 154: Repeat, Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Celebrate y Little Tangles: Challenge #58 - Die Cutting.

 

Hello everyone!

Today's card is a simple but beautiful bday card. I wanted to capture the essence of the person that would receive it, and I think I did it. For the background, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder which has a repeated swirly pattern. The stamps are from Neat and Tangled. To give it a focus on the bday present, I repeatedly stamped it over itself re-inking each time so I ended with a very crisp image over white cardstock. I also heat embossed the bow with silver embossing powder. Then I die cut the white cardstock using a circle die. I placed it in a corner with 3D dots and cut the excess. I'll enter it to the following challenges:  CASology: Week 154: Repeat, Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Celebrate and Little Tangles: Challenge #58 - Die Cutting.

CAS Bday

I've been following the CAS-ual Fridays blog for a while now. They are celebrating 4 years of challenges. This week's challenge is to create a CAS Bday card with the colors white, black, orange and turquoise. I used different color cardstock and then heat embossed the sentiment (Lawn Fawn) in white. I decorated then with Sprinkles in the coordinating colors. Happy Bday CAS-ual Fridays!!!

El reto de esta semana es crear una tarjeta CAS de cumpleaños con los colores anaranjado, turquesa, blanco y negro. Usé cartulina de estos colores y luego con la técnica de "heat embossing" estampé el mensaje que es un sello de Lawn Fawn en blanco. Decoré la tarjeta con "Sprinkles" de los colores en coordinación. ¡Muchas felicidades a todo el equipo de CAS-ual Fridays!

I have today another birthday card. This one is for my nephew who turns 10 today. He is living in Europe right now so I won't be getting to see him this year but I really hope to see him and his sister soon. I wanted a simple but festive card. I used the balloon image from this stamp set. I stamped with different color inks and just let two of them "float" away. I then stamped the number 10 in these balloons. I used gold ink for the sentiment. I'll enter this one to the CASology: Week 145: Shape.

Hoy les traigo otra tarjeta de cumpleaños. Esta es para mi sobrino que cumple hoy sus 10 años. En estos momentos está viviendo con su familia en Europa así que no podré verlo este año pero espero poder visitarlos pronto a él y su hermanita. Quería hacerle una tarjeta sencilla pero festiva. Usé la imagen de globo de este set de sellos. Estampé con diferentes colores de tinta dejando solo dos globos "volar". En estos dos, estampé el número 10. Para el pensamiento de cumpleaños usé tinta dorada. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de CASology: Week 145: Shape.

Espero que estén listos para el fin de semana. Este viernes les presento esta tarjeta que tiene de protagonista un panda. Este sello es parte de un KOM de Unity Stamp Co. Es adorable. Para crear el fondo usé Distress Paints en varios colores y Color Bloom en Gold Foil. El mensaje fue estampado una vez seca la pintura con la técnica de "heat embossing" con polvo blanco. Corté un globo en papel de escarcha dorado y simulé que el osito panda lo sostenía con hilo blanco y amarillo. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Simon Says Let's get Sentimental y compartiéndola con mis amigos de "Friends with Flair" de Unity. Hello everyone!!!

I hope you guys are ready for the weekend. This Friday I present you a card that features an adorable panda bear. It's a stamp from a KOM from Unity Stamp Co. It is too cute. To create the background I used Distress Paints in various colors and Color Bloom in Gold Foil. The sentiment was heat embossed using white embossing powder and Versamark. I cut a balloon on gold glittered cardstock and added twine so the panda would appear to be holding it. I got some crafting time in my new craft room! Yeay!!!! So happy with my new space. Anyway, I made a few birthday cards I needed. This one is for a cute princess who turned 9 last Sunday. I know she loved it. The dress and the crown are from Lawn Fawn. The die for the crown is also from them. I paper pieced the dress with that cute pink and white polka dot paper from Echo Park paper. The castle is from a stamp set I got a while ago at Michaels. The "Happy" die is from Avery Elle. I used that gold glitter cardstock that I love so much!!!! I also paper pieced some of the parts from the castle and the crown. The other parts I used Copic Markers. I added sequins to complete this card which to be honest, I almost (ALMOST) didn't give away because I loved it so much. The dilemmas of a paper crafter... I'll enter it to the following challenges: Cut It Up Challenge #70: Paper piecing, Simon Wednesday Challenge: Let's get Sentimetal and Sparkle and Shine Challenge: Inspiration Photo.

¡Al fin pude estrenar bien mi Nuevo espacio de trabajo! Me gusta mucho pues estoy mucho más cómoda. Tuve la oportunidad de hacer varias tarjetas de cumpleaños que necesitaba. Esta tarjeta es para una princesa que cumplió 9 años este pasado domingo. Estoy segura que le encantó su tarjeta. La imagen del traje y la corona son de sellos de Lawn Fawn. El troquel de la corona también es de ellos. Hice la técnica de "paper piecing" para el traje con un lindo papel rosa y puntos blancos de la línea de Echo Park Paper. El Castillo es de un set que adquirí hace ya algún tiempo en la tienda Michaels. El troquel de "Happy" es de la línea de Avery Elle. También usé la técnica de "paper piecing" para algunas parte del Castillo y la corona. Para las restantes, usé marcadores Copics. Añadí lentejuelas para completar la tarjeta que les aseguro que casi (CASI) no regalo de lo mucho me gusto. Estos son los dilemas de nosotr@s los artesanos... Here I am... posting late...yet again... Anyway, today's card is a birthday card. It features stamps from this kit from Unity Stamp Co. I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder then colored, with Distress Inks, the background with the colors (I also followed the sketch) from the Unity Be Inspired Challenge just masking about half an inch where I stamped the sentiment. I completed the look with some purple twine and rhinestones. I'm loving this color combo. I'm entering the card to CASology: Week 131 since the cue card is "birthday". I'll also share this card too with today's Friends with Flair so don't forget to comment for a chance to win stamps from Unity!!!

Aquí de Nuevo... escribiendoles tarde... Bueno, la tarjeta de hoy es para cumpleaños. Usé este kit de Unity Stamp Co. Usando la técnica de "heat embossing" estampé las imágenes y luego utilicé polvo transparente para la técnica. Luego le dí color al fondo con "Distress Inks" utilizando los colores (también seguí el esquema) de la competencia de Unity Be Inspired Challenge. Cubrí aproximadamente media pulgada del fondo para estampar luego en esa area en blanco el mensaje. Completé la tarjeta con hilo violeta y "rhinestones". Esta combinación de colores me gusta mucho. Entraré la tarjeta en la competencia de CASology: Week 131, ya que la palabra clave es "cumpleaños". Estaré compartiendo la tarjeta también en el Friends with Flair del día de hoy, asi que no olviden dejar su comentario para la oportunidad de ganar sellos de Unity.

I'm in love with this Lawn Fawn set. I can't stop using it!!! I made a birthday card with it. First I made the backgroung. I heat embossed with clear embossing powder the anchors and stamped with Versamark little hearts randomly. Then, I created the sky with Distress inks and clouds I fussy cut. I created the waves and colored them with watercolors. I used the coordinating dies for the boat and  the lifesaver. A wavy "happy birthday" completes it. I'll enter this one to Simon Says Die crazy Challenge.

Estoy enamorada de este set de sellos de Lawn Fawn. ¡No puedo parar de usarlo! En esta ocasión hice una tarjeta de cumpleaños. Primero hice el diseño de fondo. Con la técnica de "heat embossing" y polvo transparente estampé las anclas y luego solo con Versamark estampé corazones al azar. El cielo lo hice usando "Distress Inks" y nubes que corté yo misma. Estampé las olas y las coloreé con acuarelas. Utilicé los troqueles en coordinación para el bote y el salvavidas. Un "Happy Birthday" ondulada completa la tarjeta. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de  Simon Says Die crazy Challenge.

I'm back after a few days of vacation. I REALLY needed a bit of sand, water and sun from the beautiful beaches of Puerto Rico! I'm back with this birthday card I made for Cut it up Challenge #43: Birthday card. I used the Cricut cartridge "Celebrate with Flourish" and the design papers are from the "Say Cheese" collection from Simple Stories. The stamps used are from Unity Stamp Co. I completed the card with sequins and twine for the balloons.

Aquí de vuelta luego de unos días de vacaciones. ¡Realmente  NECESITABA un poco de arena, agua y sol de mis hermosas playas de Puerto Rico! Estoy de vuelta con esta tarjeta que hice para la competencia de Cut it up Challenge #43: Birthday card. Usé el cartucho de Cricut llamado "Celebrate with Flourish" y papel de diseño de la colección "Say Cheese" de Simple Stories. Los sellos que utilicé son de Unity Stamp Co. Completé la tarjeta con lentejuelas e hilo para los globos.

This month's "Inspired" project is a birthday card. It's inspired by a visit I did last summer with my stepsons and baby JT to the Children's Museum in Carolina, Puerto Rico. We had a lot of fun that day! From all the exhibits there, the kids learned a lot in one from the Universe. It had this computer thing in the middle where an employee selected a planet from the Solar System and the huge ball in the middle lighted up with the image of the planets and he then gave very interesting info of that planet (see pic below). I'm planning to take them again to the museum soon. If you visit PR, and have kids, it's a must go. So, I made an space bday card, future robot included. I used a stamp set from Michael's, Stampin' Up & Lawn Fawn and lots of distress inks and Copics.

El proyecto "Inspired" de este mes es una tarjeta de cumpleaños. Está inspirada por la visita que dimos mis hijastros, JT y yo al Museo del Niño en Carolina, Puerto Rico el pasado verano. ¡Que mucho nos divertimos ese día! De todas las exhibiciones, los chicos aprendieron mucho en una que era del Universo. Tenía una computadora al centro donde un empleado seleccionaba un planeta del Sistema Solar y una bola gigante se prendía con la imagen del planeta entonces él daba datos interesantes sobre el planeta. Estoy planificando volver a llevarlos pronto. Si visitas a PR y tienes niños, deben ir. Pues, hice una tarjeta de cumpleaños espacial, robot incluido. Usé sellos de Lawn Fawn, Stampin Up y Michael's más mucho "distress inks" y Copics.

Hoy seguimos celebrando cumpleaños. En esta ocasión con los lindos animalitos de Lawn Fawn, "Critters in the Sea". Esta tarjetita la hice para la competencia de  Lawnscaping Challenges: Lets Party. Aprovecho la oportunidad para desearle a todos en Lawnscaping Challenges un Feliz Cumple a su blog que ya tiene 4 años. Me entretuve bastante coloreando con mis Copics a los animalitos. El papel de cielo es del pad 6 x 6 de "Into the Woods" también de Lawn Fawn.

Happy 4th birthday to all back at Lawnscaping Challenges!!! Keep it up! I had a blast coloring all the critters with Copics. The sky design paper is from the 6 x 6 pad "Into the Woods" also from Lawn Fawn.

Well, in Puerto Rico, Christmas is almost over... almost. After Three Kings Day (Three Wise Men), there's still eight more day of celebrations. Yei! In addition, as I mentioned in the previous post, a lot of family member's birthdays are in January, so I need a quite a few birthday cards. Today, I'm presenting you a card masculine card. I used Unity Stamp Co stamps, washi tape and Doodlebug design sprinkles. I'll be entering this one to CASology Challenges: week 7:Bubbly.

Goodbye Pinspired/Adios Pinspired

First post of the year 2014! Lots of things coming this new year hopefully for Maia Ink. Sadly, this year is the end of Pinspired Challenges. I'll still see the amazing work of the DT members in other blogs/challenges. Still, I'll miss this challenge. I managed to do some cards in between getting ready to receive the new year. In this last challenge was mainly inspired by the colors of the inspiration pic. A lot of birthdays coming in a few weeks so I'm in need of those. I used Neat and Tangled and Unity Stamp Co. stamps, vellum paper and white embossing powder.

 

 

¡La primera entrada del Nuevo año 2014! Muchas cosas buenas para Maia Ink en este Nuevo año si Dios lo permite. Lamentablemente este comienzo de año marca el final de Pinspired Challenges. De todos modos podré ver los trabajos de los miembros de su equipo de diseño en otros blogs/competencias. Pude hacer varias tarjetas en medio del ajetreo de las fiestas navideñas. Para esta última competencia me inspiré principalmente en los colores de la foto. Se acercan muchos cumpleaños en la familia así que necesito tarjetas para esta ocasión. Utilicé sellos de Neat and Tangled y Unity Stamp Co, papel de velo y "embossing powder" blanco.

It has been a while since I last participated in a Unity Stamp Co. Challenge!!! Why? I got a bit lost when they changed their challenges blog but now I'm BACK! I love how you have different ways to participate and the prize for winning is amazing! :) So, here's my card for this month's challenge September Be Inspired Challenge. I'm participating in the Color Challenge. I used KOM stamps, Think Happy Thoughts KOM 05/11, and the design paper and sentiment stamp are from Stampin Up.

This is today's second post. I didn't want to miss the chance to post another entry for the DT Call Challenge at Lawnscaping Challenges. I used the Lawn Fawn sets "Dad's day" and "Hats off to you". I also used the following supplies: Spellbinder dies, Copics, Cuttlebug embossing folder, sequins, dimensionals, Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, design paper and cardstock (kraft, black, white and turquoise). I really love this color combo! Hope you like it too!

¡Hola!

Hoy les presento una tarjeta sencilla de cumpleaños. Este es mi estilo favorito de crear, limpio y sencillo o CAS. En esta ocasión utilizé los sellos de Lawn Fawn del set que escogí como premio por ganar esta competencia. Escogí el set Blissful Botanicals. Es un set muy versatile. También utilizé "Washi tape" de Bella blvd y de los "dollar bins" de Michaels (que ya no son a $1 si no $1.50). Y para darle toque final unos "rhinestones" de Stampin' Up. Otros materiales incluyen: Copics, cartulina de Stampin Up y Colorbok, y sellos de Pink by Design. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges #58 Clean and Simple.

PS Disculpen la calidad de las fotos últimamente. Mi pequeño "photo light box" se rompió y el que adquirí no me gusta para nada. ¡Ya pronto tendré otro!

Today's card is a simple Happy Birthday card. This is my favorite style of card designing, Clean and Simple or CAS. This time I used the Lawn Fawn set I won for winning this challenge. I chose the Blissful Botanicals. set. It's a very versatile set. I also used washi tape from Bella Blvd and those dollar bins at Michaels (which are actually $1.50 now). To add some sparkle, I used some rhinestones from Stampin' Up. Other materials include: Copics, Stampin Up & Colorbok cardstock and Pink by Design stamps. I'll be entering this to Lawnscaping Challenges #58 Clean and Simple.

¡Hola!

Se que los tengo abandonados!!! Mis disculpas. He estado muy ocupadita con mi bebé entre otras cosas. Desde la última vez que les escribí han pasado varias cositas. Fuí publicada nuevamente en la Revista Papeles y Más en su edición de abril-mayo. También fui la ganadora de la competencia "Stitching" del blog Lawnscaping Challenges. Presiona aquí para ver el enlace. Todavía estoy muy contenta por esto. Así que con más ánimos regreso a las competencias. Hoy les present esta tarjeta para la competencia de CAS-ual Fridays CFC100 Top 10 tic tac toe. Escogí la primera línea: polka dots, kraft, punches or dies. Utilizé un ponchador de círculo para crear las bombas cuyos patrones son estampados a mano. Ese perrito es una de mis imagines favoritas de Lawn Fawn. Utilizé cartulina kraft como base de la tarjeta. Una tarjeta sencilla y chulita. ¡Espero les guste!

I know I've gone for a while!!! I'm so sorry but I've been very busy with my baby among other things. Since the last time I posted, a few exciting things have happened. I was published again with a Mother's Day card in the magazine Revista Papeles y Más in its April-May edition. I was also selected Queen of the Green in the Stitching Challenge on Lawnscaping Challenges blog. Click hhere to see the announcement. I'm still soooo excited about that one. So here I am, ready for more challenges. Today I'm presenting you guys a card for CAS-ual Fridays CFC100 Top 10 tic tac toe. I chose the first line: polka dots, kraft, punches or dies. I used a circle punch to make the ballons which are also hand stamped. That doggie is one of my favorite images from Lawn Fawn. I also used the kraft cardstock as base for the card. A simple and cute card. Hope you like it! Till later!

Happy bday to a special person/Feliz cumpleaños a alguien especial

Hi!!!

Today is a very important day. Not only it's the official first day of summer but also is the Bday of a very special person. Today we celebrate Jeykalis' 12th birthday. Although you are far away, we wish you a very happy birthday. Hope you have the greatest day ever. Your brothers, Dad and I miss you very much and hope to see you soon. Your are officially ALMOST a teenager ;) For a very special girl, I had to make a special card. Hope you all like it! I made this easel card using Stampin Up cardstock. The patterned paper is from Bella Blvd. The sentiment stamp is from Michaels and the "Cuppie" stamp is from C.C. Designs.  I also used punches from EK Success and Stampin Up, Copics, and Stampin Up's Crystal effects.

Hoy es un día importante. No solo es el comienzo oficial de verano sino que también es el cumpleaños de alguién muy especial. Hoy es el cumpleaños #12 de Jeykalis. Aunque te encuentras lejos de nosotros, te deseamos de todo corazón que tengas un feliz cumpleaños. Esperamos que pases un tremendo día. Tus hermanos, papá y yo te extrañamos mucho mucho mucho y esperamos poder compartir contigo pronto. Oficialmente eres CASI una adolescente ;) Para una persona especial, tenía que hacer una tarjeta especial. ¡Espero que les guste! Hice esta "easel card" utilizando cartulina de Stampin Up. El papel con diseño es de Bella Blvd. El sello con el pensamiento es de Michaels y el sello de "Cuppie" es de C.C. Designs. También utilicé ponches de EK Success y Stampin Up, Copics, y "Crystaleffects" de Stampin Up's.
