It's Friday and with it, a layout! You guys know by now that although I love doing scrapbook layouts, it's not what I usually do. I do have a lot of stuff for it, but not enough time! Here's a Christmas layout I made. This one will definitively go in my wall. The picture is the first official one we do with Santa Claus and by official I mean that I paid for it. We had to wait in line for a few hours... so I HAD to make a layout, period. I used Latina Crafter stamps and Lawn Fawn (the paper pieced tree). The paper collection is Sugarplums from Doodlebug Design Inc. I'll include this layout in the current Lawnscaping Challenge: Tag It.

¡Es viernes y con él llega un "layout"! Ustedes ya saben que aunque me gusta mucho hacer "layouts", no es lo que usualmente hago. Tengo muchos materiales para ellos, pero no tiempo suficiente. Les presente este con tema Navideño. Este definitivo estará colgado en la pared de mi cuarto. Es la primera foto official que nos tomamos con Santa, y por oficial me refiero a que pagué por la foto. Tuvimos que esperar varias horas.... asi que TENIA que hacer este "layout" y punto. Usé sellos de Latina Crafter y de Lawn Fawn. La colección de papeles es Sugarplums de Doodlebug Design Inc. Incluiré este "layout" en el reto actual de Lawnscaping Challenge: Tag It..

Gemelas/Twins

¡Hola!

La tarjeta que les presento hoy está inspirada en la foto del reto de Sparkle and Shine Challenge: Eighteen que verán abajo. Me enfoqué en algunos detalles de la foto: las flores amarillas que están en el tiesto a la izquierda, el cojín con patron de "chevron", el color negro del sillón y en el color marrón claro de las espigas en el fondo. Hice realmente dos tarjetas, pero solo estaré entrando una al reto puesto que a solo una la decoré con lentejuelas. Al final les maestro ambas tarjetas. Estas serán para unas primas de la familia que cumplen 15 años y pues, son gemelas. La imagen es un hermoso sello de Unity Stamp Co cortada a la mitad para usar en ambas tarjetas. Lo pinté con técnica de acuarelas usando Distress Inks.

Today's card is inspired with the picture of the current Sparkle and Shine Challenge: Eighteen that you see above. I took some elements from it that called my attention: the yellow flowers in the pot at the left, the chevron pattern on the pillow, the black chair and the light brown color of the leaves on the back. I actually did two cards inspired, but will enter just one since only one has sequins. These cards will be for my husband's cousins. They turn 15 and they are twins. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co split in two. I watercolored it using Distress Inks. The sentiment stamp is from Latina Crafter.

La tarjeta de hoy la hice para el reto de Latina Crafter Sketch #53 + Twist noviembre. El twist de este mes es Navidad. Me mantuve bastante fiel al sketch del reto. Para darle el toque navideño use papeles de diseño de temporada y una Pascua que hice con un ponchador. A esta la decoré con Distress Ink, Glossy Accent y rhinestones que pinté amarrillo con Copics.

Today's card is for Latina Crafter Sketch #53 + Twist noviembre challenge. The twist this month is Christmas. I followed the sketch and the twist. I used Christmas Patterned paper and did a poinsettia with a paper punch. I decorated the flower with Distress Inks, Glossy Accents and rhinestones which I colored yellow with Copics.

Hoy les traigo la primera de dos tarjetas que voy a entrar en el reto actual de CAS-ual Fridays CFC:145: Precious Metals. El niñito Jesús y la estrella las corté con mi Cricut Explore Air que compré hace poquito en Blitsy en una super oferta. El rectángulo de cartulina blanca la corté con un troquel de Lawn Fawn. Le di color para recrear el cielo de la noche con Distress Inks y un bolígrafo de tinta dorada. El mensaje es un sello de Latina Crafter. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta también al reto de Latina Crafter #LCSC53. y en CASology: Week 173: Pretty

Today's card is the first of two cards I'll enter in CAS-ual Fridays CFC:145: Precious Metals. The baby Jesus and the Star were cut using my new Cricut Explore Air which I got for a great deal a few weeks ago on Blitsy. The rectangle is a die from Lawn Fawn. I colored using Distress Inks and a gold gel marker to recreate a night scene. The sentiment is a stamp from Latina Crafter. I'll also enter this card to Latina Crafter #LCSC53. challenge and CASology: Week 173: Pretty.

Nautical/ Náutico

I've been practicing the inlay technique with die cuts. This one took me a long time to finish because of the glittered cardstock was kinda thick for the die but I just wanted to use it, period. I love simple designs and circles are simple. I used circle dies from Spellbinders and the sentiment die is from Latina Crafter. I followed the twist in their current challenge Sketch #50 and twist Náutica using nautical colors and I also did my interpretation of the sketch #50. This card is for my brother-in-law who was recently inducted to the Las Vegas Boxing Hall of Fame. We are all very proud of him.

He estado practicando la técnica de "inlay" con troqueles. Esta tarjeta me tomó mucho tiempo terminarla ya que la cartulina escarchada dorada es bastante gruesa pero yo quería usar ese y punto. Me encantan los diseños sencillos y para mi, los círculos son sencillos y a su vez elegantes. Los troqueles de círculos son de "Spellbinders" y el de "Felicidades" es de Latina Crafter. Seguí el twist del reto Sketch #50 and twist Náutica utilizando los colores náuticos y también hice mi interpretación del sketch. Esta tarjeta será para mi cuñado que recientemente fue exaltado al Salón de la Fama de Boxeo en Las Vegas. Estamos muy orgullosos de él.

Flamingo

Esta es mi segunda entrada del día. Esta tarjeta que les presento, la hice en un momentito que pude escaparme a mi taller. Estaba loca por participar en algunas competencias de las que sigo. En serio, que ya no aguantaba más. Combiné varias competencias para esta tarjeta. Los colores que utilicé están inspirados en la foto del reto de Runway Inspired Challenges RIC#89. Tan pronto ví la foto y sus colores pensé FLAMINGO. La imagen es de este set de Unity Stamp Co. Me encanta este set. Ya lo he usado en varias tarjetas. El flamingo lo coloreé con Copics. El patrón de "chevrons" fue hecho con un set de Latina Crafter con tinta negra al igual que el mensaje de "Feliz Cumpleaños". Por eso la tarjeta también la entraré en el reto de CAS-ual Fridays CFC142: Pretty Patterns. El flamingo se podría considerar un animal acuático ya que pasan mucho tiempo parados en el agua, así que entraré la tarjeta en el reto de CASology: Week 159: aquatic. Completé en diseño con lentejuelas plateadas siguiendo el esquema de colores de Runway Inspired Challenge.

This is my second entry of the day. I made this card also on a little break I had to escape to my craft room and play a little bit. I just couldn't wait any longer to enter some of the challenges I follow. I really couldn't! I combined 3 challenges on this card. The color combo for this card was inspired by the inspiration photo of the Runway Inspired Challenges RIC#89. As soon I saw the picture I thought FLAMINGO. The image is from this Unity Stamp Co set which I LOVE! I've done a few cards using it already. I colored the flamingo with Copics. The chevron pattern was done with a set from "Latina Crafter" stamps, as well as the sentiment, using black ink. Because of the pattern I created, I'm entering it too to the  CAS-ual Fridays CFC142: Pretty Patterns challenge. The flamingo could be considered an aquatic animal since they spend a LOT of time in water, so I'm also entering it to the  CASology: Week 159: aquatic. challenge. I complete the design with some silver sequins following the color combo of the Runway Inspired Challenge.

Hoy les presentó otra tarjeta hecha para el Día de los Padres. Para esta, usé sellos de Latina Crafter. Es un diseño sencillo y masculino. No seguí al detalle el Sketch #48 del reto de Latina Crafter, LCSC#48, al dedillo si no mas bien mi interpretación de este. ¡Espero les guste!  L@s espero mañana en el blog hop de Lawnscaping Challenges.

Today's card is another Father's Day one. I used Latina Crafter. Is a simple masculine design. I didn't exactly follow the Sketch #48 of the Latina Crafter Challenge. Día de Padres/Father's day

¡Hola!

Primero, quiero felicitar a todos los padres que celebraron ayer su día. Yo la pasé muy bien en familia. Aquí les presento la tarjeta que preparé para mi papá. Para esta, usé papeles de Simple Stories, de varias libretas 6 x 6. La corbata la corté utilizando la Cricut y el cartucho "Everyday Paper dolls". Los sellos son de Latina Crafter. Para darle brillo, hice "heat embossing" con color dorado más decoré con lentejuelas. Seguí el "sketch" del reto corriente de Sparkle and Shine #7 y usé papeles de diseño con rayas y estrellas para el reto de Cut it up Challenges: Stars and Stripes.

First, I want to say Happy Father's Day to all that celebrated it yesterday. I had a great time with my family yesterday. Here I present you the card I made for my father. For it, I used Simple Stories 6 x 6 paper pads. The tie was die cut using a Cricut and the "Everyday Paper Dolls" cartridge. The stamps are from Latina Crafter. To add shine to it, I heat embossed in gold and added sequins. I followed the sketch for the current  Sparkle and Shine #7 and used design paper with stars and stripes for the Cut it up Challenges: Stars and Stripes.

Esta es mi segunda entrada del día. Hoy les presento una tarjeta para abuela que hice siguiendo el "sketch" del reto de Latina Crafter #47 (LCSC#47). Los sellos que usé son de #LatinaCrafter. La flor es de Prima. Un diseño sencillo en diferentes tonos de amarillo. Este año me incliné bastante por este color para las tarjetas del Día de Madres. Ya mañana les presento otra tarjeta para la ocasión.

This is my second blog post for the day. Today, I'm presenting a card for Grandma that I did following the sketch for the current Latina Crafter #47 challenge. The stamps are from #LatinaCrafter. The flower is from Prima. It's a simple design using different tones of color yellow. I did use yellow a lot for the cards I made this year for Mother's Day. I'll share with you another Mother's Day card tomorrow.

El pasado sábado se celebró el Día Nacional del Scrapbooking. Tuve la oportunidad de participar en uno de los retos que ofrecía Latina Crafter ese día. En total se hicieron 4 retos ese día. Por suerte me encontraba en mi taller y pude hacer esta tarjeta rapidito. Participé en el reto #2: ¿Qué es el scrapbook para tí? Era proyecto libre y lo mas rápido que se me ocurrió fue una tarjeta y así lo hice. Espero les guste!

Last Saturday it was National Scrapbooking Day. I had the chance to participate in one of the challenges offered by Latina Crafter that day. In total, there were 4 challenges. I was lucky to be near my craftroom so I wiped up this card quickly. I competed in Challenge #2: Tell us what scrapbooking means to you? It was an "anything goes" challenge so of course I made a card. I hope you guys like it!

Love is in the air!

Well, February is here so in two weeks most of us will be stuffing our faces with chocolate (like I need an excuse for it LOL). I already started making Valentine's day cards a few days back. I made this one using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I dry embossed the clouds for some dimension and the hot air balloon was paper pieced. The little hearts were also die cut using Lawn Cuts. The sentiment stamp is from Latina Crafter. The background was color with Distress Inks. By now you guys should know that I love making cards starting with only white cardstock! I'll enter this one to: Cut it up Challenge #63: embossing and Simon Says anything goes.

¡El amor está en el aire!

Bueno, ya llegó febrero así que en menos de dos semanas la mayoría estaremos comiendo chocolates (como si hiciera falta una excusa para eso jijiji). Yo comencé a hacer mis tarjetas de San Valentín ya hace unos días. Para esta tarjeta usé sellos y troqueles de Lawn Fawn. Con la técnica de "dry embossing" le dí textura a las nubes. Los pequeños corazones también fueron cortados con troqueles Lawn Cuts. El mensaje es un sello de Latina Crafter. El color de fondo es Distress Inks. Como ya Deben saber, me encanta comenzar una tarjeta con solo cartulina blanca y yo darle forma y color. Entraré la tarjeta a las siguientes competencias: Cut it up Challenge #63: embossing y Simon Says anything goes.

Snowflake/Copo de Nieve

Hello, Hello!

Here in Puerto Rico we don't get to see snow. I know a lot of people that live in places it snows, before December ends are already tired of it. For us, it is a novelty to travel and to play with it! Snow looks beautiful until you have to shovel your driveway LOL Today's card features a cute little reindeer from this cute set from Unity Stamp Co that I colored with Copics. I paired it with a bit of gold tread and a wood veneer in the shape of a snowflake. I heat embossed the sentiment from a Christmas set from Latina Crafter. I'll enter this one to CASology Challenge: week 126: Snow.

Aquí en PR no vemos nieve. Se que la mayoría de los que si la ven, antes que acabe diciembre, ya no quieren más. Para nosotros es una novedad jugar con ella. La nieve se ve Hermosa, hasta que tienes que palear la entrada de la casa. jajaja Bueno, la tarjeta de hoy les presente a este lindo venadito de este lindo set de Unity Stamp Co el cual coloree con Copics. Le puse un copo de nieve en madera y un poco de hilo dorado. El mensaje fue "heat embossed" en dorado. Este es de Latina Crafter. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de CASology Challenge: week 126: Snow.

Happy Saturday!

I can't stop making Christmas cards. Honestly, I LOVE it! I wish I had more time!!!! Today's card is a shaker card. I used: Lawn Fawn stamps and die, Latina Crafter stamps, and the snow globe die is from Memory Box. Shaker cards are time consuming to make but the results are worth every second. I completed the card with twine and a red button. I'll enter this one to Cut It Up Challenge #60: Button Christmas. This time I made sure to post on time!!! LOL

No puedo parar de hacer tarjetas de Navidad. En serio, me ENCANTA. Ojalá tuviera más tiempo para hacerlo. La tarjeta de hoy es un "shaker card". Entre los materiales estan: sellos y troquel de Lawn Fawn, sellos de Latina Crafter, y el troquel de globo de nieve es de Memory Box. Este tipo de tarjeta toma mucho tiempo crearlas pero el resultado final hace que valga la pena. Completé la tarjeta con hilo y un botón rojo. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Cut It Up Challenge #60: Button Christmas. ¡Esta vez me aseguré de escribir la entrada a tiempo! jijiji

Big Pumpkin/Calabaza

Today's project is a Thanksgiving Card. I used dies to cut ovals to create a pumpkin. To give it some texture, I dry embossed it and distressed the edges. I fussy cut a turkey from a cute Bella Blvd paper. The sentiment is from Latina Crafter and the feathers are from Bella Blvd also. I'm adding this card to Cut It Up Challege: Let's talk turkey.

El proyecto de hoy es una tarjeta para el Día de Acción de Gracias. Usé un troquel ovalado para crear la calabaza. Para darle textura, hice repujado en seco y dí color a los bordes. Luego corté el pavito de un lindo papel de Bella Blvd. El sello del mensaje es de Latina Crafter y las plumas son de Bella Blvd también. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Cut It Up Challege: Let's talk turkey.

Layout for Father's Day

It's been a while since I made my last post. I'm sorry but you know... having a toddler running around doesn't give me too much free time. Anyway, today I'm showing you a layout I made for my husband. I gave it to him as a present in a shadow box. He loved it! Ever since I'm part of the Design Team of Revista Papeles y Más, I've been inspired to do more scrapbook layouts. That said.... lets see WHEN I'll finish the scrapbook I started a while ago for a trip we made on 2010 to Europe! LOL I used Latina Crafter stamps, sequins, Lawn Fawn dies, Bella Blvd chipboard and stickers and some of the free gifts I got from Unity Stamp Co as free gifts with my order. :)

A pasado algún tiempo desde mi última entrada en el blog. Mis disculpas por eso... pero con un pequeño corriendo por toda la casa me queda muy poco tiempo libre. Hoy les presento una página que hice para mi esposo. Se la dí como regalo en un marco. A él le encantó. Desde que soy parte del equipo de diseño de la Revista Papeles y Más, he estado más inspirada a crear páginas de scrapbook. A ver cuándo al fin termino el álbum que empecé hace algún tiempo de un viaje en 2010 a Europa. Para esta página usé sellos de Latina Crafter, lentejuelas, troqueles de Lawn Fawn, chipboard y stickers de Bella Blvd y algunos de los regalitos que he recibido de parte de Unity Stamp Co con mis órdenes. :)

Inspired Series: Bicycle

¡Hola!

Hoy les traigo otra entrada de la serie "Inspired". Hace poco asistí a una hermosa fiesta de cumpleaños de 1 añito de una pequeña princesa. De regalo, le compré un lindo set de ropa (ver foto abajo) perfecto para el verano, que a su vez, usé de inspiración para la tarjeta de cumpleaños. Para la tarjeta usé papel de diseño de Stampin Up y sellos de Lawn Fawn ("Cruising through life") y Latina Crafter ("Frases para toda ocasión") . Para el fondo rosa usé acuarelas. No van a creer algo. Esas acuarelas me las regaló mi mama hace más de 20 años como parte de un set de arte. ¡Todavía funcionan! Estuve a punto de comprar acuarelas y recordé que tenía ese set guardado. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de esta semana de Simon Monday Challenge de Simon Says Stamps (Challenge: M) ya que la fiesta fue en mayo.

Welcome to another post for the "Inspired Series". A few days ago, I went to a beautiful first birthday party for a little princess. As a gift, I bought a cute summer set (see pic above) perfect for the summer which also served as an inspiration for the birthday card. I used design paper from Stampin Up and stamps from Lawn Fawn ("Cruising through life") and Latina Crafter ("Frases para toda ocasión"). For the pink background I used watercolors. You wont believe this... Those watercolors are part of an art set my mom gave me more than 20 years ago. It still works!! I was about to buy watercolors and I remembered I had those in my old closet. I'll enter this card to this week's Simon Monday Challenge de Simon Says Stamps (Challenge: M) since the party was in May.

Hi!

Today's card features a first for me! It's the first one I make using real stitching! I don't own a big sewing machine but I bought a while ago one of those hand held sewing thingies I had not tried it out. So, it is just a tiny line but I hope to do a bit more in the near future. I'll enter today's card to this week's CAS-ual Fridays: CFC131: Three Thirds. This card has three strips of paper, three different patterned papers and the wood veneer of the butterfly has three tiny holes in each wing! :)

La tarjeta de hoy tiene algo especial. ¡Es la primera vez que hago una costura real en una tarjeta! No tengo una maquina de coser grande pero hace algún tiempo que compré una de las pequeñas inalambricas y no la había utilizado. Me encantó así que verán más costuras en futuros proyectos. La tarjeta la estaré entrando en la competencia de esta semana de CAS-ual Fridays: CFC131: Three Thirds. Esta tarjeta tiene tres tiras de papel, tres papeles de diseño diferentes y la mariposa de madera tiene tres pequeños rotos en cada ala. :)

Una corta entrada para presentarles otra tarjeta que hice para las competencia de CASology: Week 92:Garden. Es otra tarjeta para el Día de las Madres. En esta ocasión usé sellos de Unity Stamp Co. y de Latina Crafter. La tarjeta lo dice todo... mama es la mejor y punto. También entraré la tarjeta a Simon Says Keep it Clean and Simple.
