It's Friday and with it, a layout! You guys know by now that although I love doing scrapbook layouts, it's not what I usually do. I do have a lot of stuff for it, but not enough time! Here's a Christmas layout I made. This one will definitively go in my wall. The picture is the first official one we do with Santa Claus and by official I mean that I paid for it. We had to wait in line for a few hours... so I HAD to make a layout, period. I used Latina Crafter stamps and Lawn Fawn (the paper pieced tree). The paper collection is Sugarplums from Doodlebug Design Inc. I'll include this layout in the current Lawnscaping Challenge: Tag It.

¡Es viernes y con él llega un "layout"! Ustedes ya saben que aunque me gusta mucho hacer "layouts", no es lo que usualmente hago. Tengo muchos materiales para ellos, pero no tiempo suficiente. Les presente este con tema Navideño. Este definitivo estará colgado en la pared de mi cuarto. Es la primera foto official que nos tomamos con Santa, y por oficial me refiero a que pagué por la foto. Tuvimos que esperar varias horas.... asi que TENIA que hacer este "layout" y punto. Usé sellos de Latina Crafter y de Lawn Fawn. La colección de papeles es Sugarplums de Doodlebug Design Inc. Incluiré este "layout" en el reto actual de Lawnscaping Challenge: Tag It..

Dulce Navidad/Sweet Christmas

¡Hola!

Nuevamente regreso luego de un tiempo sin escribirles. Espero poder ponerme al día y escribir más frecuente. Hoy les traigo una tarjeta navideña muy dulce. El pingüino fue cortado con mi nueva Cricut Explore Air, la cual me tiene encantada. La imagen la tomé de la librería de imágenes disponibles en la subscripción mensual. Corté a parte el bastón de menta para que el pingüino lo sujetara. El mensaje y los copos de nieve de fondo son sellos de de Lawn Fawn. Le añadí detalles con pega de brillo y "Glossy accents" para darle un toque especial. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en las competencias de: Simon Says: Thinking of you y Lawnscaping Challenges: thinking of you.

I'm back after a while of not posting. I hope I can post more frequently since I'm up to date in other stuff! Today's card is a sweet Christmas card. The penguin was cut using my new Cricut Explore Air, which I LOVE. The image was available from the monthly subscription and the candy cane too. The sentiment and snowflakes are Lawn Fawn stamps. I added some Glossy Accents and glitter glue to add that special touch. I'll enter the card to the following Challenges: Simon Says: Thinking of you and Lawnscaping Challenges: thinking of you.

Espero que estén disfrutando de su fin de semana al igual que yo. Hoy les traigo una tarjeta de cumpleaños con sellos y troqueles de Lawn Fawn. Una de mis técnicas favoritas es el "emboss-resist" con "heat embossing" y que mejor que usar "Distress Inks" para esto. Las estrellas, la luna y la luz del faro están todos realizados con esta técnica. Esta tarjeta la hice para el cumpleaños de mi padrino. A él y su familia, al igual que a la mía, les encanta acampar. Este set de sellos era el perfecto para la tarjeta. El faro lo coloqué en alusión al nombre de el lugar donde ellos tienen su tráiler, Faro del Mar, y la imagen del tráiler tiene las iniciales "VT" en referencia al nombre del suyo, Villa Terapia.  Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a los siguientes retos: Lawnscaping Challenges: Embossing y Cut it up Challenge: Old School.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Today's card is a birthday card with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. One of my favorite techniques to do is emboss-resist with heat embossing and the best way for me to do it is with Distress Inks. The moon, stars and the light of the lighthouse are all heat embossed.  I did this card for my Godfather's birthday. He and his family, like mine, love to camp. This stamp sets were perfect for the theme. The lighthouse is in reference to the name of the place they have their camping trailer and the camping trailer itself has the initials "VT" in reference to its name, Villa Terapia. I'll enter this card to the following challenges: Lawnscaping Challenges: Embossing & Cut it up Challenge: Old School.

Now, to my project! As you know our theme is COFFEE. I L.O.V.E. coffee and of course Puerto Rican coffee! I stamped the cute cups in the "Love you a latte" stamp set from Lawn Fawn with black Stazon ink on to a white coffee cup. I stamped one first then masked it and stamped the other one. To give a bit of color, I used a cream colored hybrid ink (Clear & Simple stamps) with a brush to color the inside of the cups. I also added a little heart from the set in pink hybrid ink. For the brown coffee, I used a brown Sharpie marker. I heat set it just to make sure it wouldn't smudge. I also stamped the white tissue paper inside the cup. I made a cute little tag for the coffee bag (Yaucono, our favorite non gourmet brand) using the same stamp set and inks and added a bit of distress ink, gold Color Bloom, brown twine and gold thread. For the tray, I stamped the images with brown ink on to kraft cardstock, cut it to the measurements I needed and assembled. I added a bit of glitter glue to the cup images to add some sparkle. ¡Ahora, a mi proyecto! Como saben, nuestro tema es el café. Yo A.M.O. el café y por supuesto el café puertorriqueño. Estampé las lindas imagenes de tazas del set "Love you a latte" de Lawn Fawn con tinta Stazon negra en una taza blanca. Primero estampé una de las imágenes, la cubrí y luego estampé la otra. Para darle un poco de color a las pequeñas tazas, apliqué tinta híbrida color crema (Clear & Simple stamps) con un pincel. También añadí un pequeño corazón del mismo set de sellos con tinta híbrida rosada. Para el marrón del café, use un marcador Sharpie. Apliqué calor para asegurarme que la tinta secara y fijara bien. Estampé un patrón con las imágenes de tazas nuevamente en papel de seda blanco el cual coloqué luego en el interior de la taza para decorar. Hice una pequeña etiqueta para el empaque de café (Yaucono, el favorito en nuestro hogar en marcas no gourmet) con los mismos sellos  y tintas más "Distress Inks", hilo marrón y dorado y Color Bloom dorado. Para la bandeja, estampé las imágenes con tinta marrón en cartulina color "kraft", corté a la medida que necesitaba y pegué. Añadí pega escarchada a algunas imágenes para dar brillo. Si les interesa saber las medidas para la bandeja, me dejan saber que se las hago llegar o hago un tutorial.

Stars and Stripes

Today's card is another Father's day card. This one was for my husband. I used Lawn Fawn dies to partial die cut the letters that spell "papa" which is dad in Spanish. To enter the current Lawnscaping Challenges: Stars & Stripes, I used design paper that had stars or stripes. I also added some star shaped wood veneers. I looove die cutting and I love all Lawn Fawn dies. I'll also enter this one to the Simon Says use your favorite technique and/or product challenge from Simon Says Stamp.

La tarjeta de hoy es otra tarjeta para el Día de Padres. Esta es la que le regalé a mi esposo. Usé troqueles de Lawn Fawn para cortar parcialmente las letras para formar la palabra "papá". Para entrar al reto de Lawnscaping Challenges: Stars & Stripes, usé papeles de diseño con rayas y estrellas. También añadí pequeñas estrellas de madera. Me encanta utilizer troqueles y los de Lawn Fawn son mis favoritos. Estaré participando con esta tarjeta también en el reto de Simon Says use your favorite technique and/or product challenge .

Les prometí que seguiría practicando con acuarelas y aquí les presento la evidencia. Esta es mi 2da participación en el reto de Lawnscaping Challenges: Watercolors. Esta vez practiqué crear un fondo y colorear "sin líneas". Me gustó mucho el resultado. Así que prontito les presentaré otra tarjeta con esta misma técnica.

¡Hola Hola Hola!

Estamos en víspera del Día de las Madres así que la tarjeta de hoy es para este día. Es la primera vez que intento colorear toda una imagen con acuarelas así que no está 100% a mi agrado. Confieso que soy un tanto perfeccionista. Pero, aun así decidí compartir la tarjeta pues es la práctica la que hace la perfección como dicen. Todos los sellos de esta tarjeta son de Lawn Fawn. Seguiré practicando les prometo, pero mientras, estaré entrando esta tarjeta en la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges: Watercolors y Simon Says Let's get Sentimental. No he comprador acuarelas "profesionales". Aunque no lo crean, las que usé pertenecen a un set de arte que mi mamá me regaló cuando apenas tenía unos 10 años. ¡Siempre he sido muy cuidadosa con mis cosas! ;)

Tomorrow is Mother's Day so I'm presenting today a card for the occasion. It's the first time I actually try to color a whole image with watercolors so it's kind of imperfect. I confess I'm a perfectionist but I still decided to share the card because "practice makes perfect". All stamps used are from Lawn Fawn. I promise I'll keep practicing but meanwhile, I'm entering this one to Lawnscaping Challenges: Watercolors and Simon Says Let's get Sentimental. I don't own any professional watercolors so even if you don't believe it, the ones I used are from an art set my mother gave me when I was ten! I've always taken care of all my stuff! ;)

Speedy Recovery/ Pronta recuperación

Finally back again posting! I've quite busy this past two months. One of the many reasons I haven't been able to craft at all these past weeks is because I moved my craft room to another room in the house. If you have had to do this, you understand. ;) Anyway, I made this card for my dad who recently had a surgery (another reason). I made it so my baby boy could give it to his granddaddy. I followed the sketch for the current Lawnscaping Challenges. We really do hope he has a speedy recovery. I'll start crafting again weekly if everything goes as planned.

¡Por fin de vuelta escribiendo! He estado muy ocupada en los pasados dos meses. Una de las razones por las cuales no he podido crear es porque mudé mi taller de un cuarto a otro. Tremenda tarea pero al fin terminé. Si han tenido que mudar su cuarto, de seguro me entienden. ;) Hice esta tarjeta para mi papá que recientemente fue operado (otra razón). Le dí la tarjeta a mi niño para que se la diera a su adorado abuelito. Seguí el diseño de la competencia actual de Lawnscaping Challenges. Realmente esperamos que tenga una pronta recuperación. Estaré ya poco a poco trabajando semanalmente para traerles proyectos nuevos.

First blog post of the new year. I know, kinda late. Sorry for that! Today's card is the first one I make for the upcoming Valentine's Day. I don't know if I have written about this before, but Valentine's day is not my favorite holiday. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE making cards for it, but don't actually enjoy the holiday. Why? I have no idea! LOL Well, I finally had the chance to ink 2 Lawn Fawn sets that had been sitting on my table for a while know. I made this card for the "Create a background" Challenge from Lawnscaping Challenges. I used "Wished you were here", "Argyle backdrops", "Schoolhouse backdrops" and "Woodgrain backdrops". I colored the world with watercolors. I will also add this one to the Simon Says Have a Heart Challenge.

La primera entrada que hago para este nuevo año. Lo sé, un poco tarde. ¡Lo siento mucho! La tarjeta de hoy es la primera que hago para el Día de San Valentín. No sé si he escrito esto antes, pero la realidad es que este día feriado no es mi favorite. No me tomen a mal, me ENCANTA hacer tarjetas para la ocasión, pero no disfruto de celebrar el día. ¿Por qué? ¡Ni idea! jajaja Bueno, al fin tuve la oportunidad de usar dos sets de sellos de Lawn Fawn que llevaban un tiempo sobre mi mesa de trabajo. Hice esta tarjeta para la competencia de  "Create a background" Challenge from Lawnscaping Challenges. Usé los sets: "Wished you were here", "Argyle backdrops", "Schoolhouse backdrops" y "Woodgrain backdrops". Coloreé el mundo con acuarelas. Estaré añadiendo la tarjeta también al siguiente reto, Simon Says Have a Heart Challenge.

Ya se acerca más y más el día de Navidad. ¿Ya terminaron sus compras? ¡Yo NO! Ir de compras con un pequeño en sus "terribles dos" no es tan divertido. ;) Les preparé una tarjeta para el reto de Lawnscaping Challenges: White on White. Me gusta mucho lo delicado y fino que se ve. Entre los materiales que usé están: sellos de Lawn Fawn "Snow Day", "embossing powder" dorado, hilo dorado, "embossing folder" de puntos, tinta dorada, papel escarchado dorado y "tissue paper" blanco (reciclado).

It's almost Christmas day. Are you done with your shopping? I'm NOT! Shopping with a toddler is not that much fun ;) Anyway, I made this card for the challenge on Lawnscaping Challenges: White on White. I really love how delicate this looks. Among the materials I used are: Lawn Fawn stamps "Snow Day", gold embossing powder, gold twine, polka dot embossing folder, gold ink, gold glitter cardstock and some upcycled white tissue paper.

Hello everyone!

I'm catching with participating on challenges. I love them I must admit. Today's card is for Lawnscaping Challenges 94: Count me in. We had to use numbers on our projects. I made this CAS card using Lawn Fawn dies and stamps, sequins, twine and Martha Stewart paper punch. This one is my favorite so far. I just loooove that glitter paper I used for the numbers. I would use it in every single card but I don't want to use it all. I know, I have issues! LOL The dilemmas of a paper crafter!

Estoy poco a poco poniéndome al día con mi participación en competencias. Tengo que admitir que me gusta mucho. La tarjeta de hoy la hice para la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges 94: Count me in. El reto es utilizar numerous en el proyecto. Hice esta sencilla tarjeta con troqueles y sellos de Lawn Fawn, lentejuelas, hilo y ponchador de Martha Stewart. Es mi tarjeta favorita, hasta ahora. Me fascina ese papel de brillo que usé para los numerous. Lo usaría en todas mis tarjetas pero no quiero agotarlo. Lo sé, tengo problemas. jajaja ¡Los dilemas de un artesano de papel!

Summer/Verano

Hoy les presento un "lay out" que hice veraniego. Como saben, vivo en Puerto Rico donde practicamente es verano todo el año. Pero la realidad es que en verano es que más aprovecho para visitor nuestras hermosas playas. Este día fué super divertido con mi pequeño. Sol + playa = diversión.  Usé sellos de Lawn Fawn y Stamp a Hoot. Las letras y el Castillo fueron cortados con Cricut. Estaré entrando este proyecto a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges: Summer Color Combo. y Cut it Up Challenges: #49 Under the Sea.

Today, I'm presenting you a summer lay out I made. As you know, I live in Puerto Rico were it is basically Summer all year long (oh yeah poor me lol). But actually, I tend to visit more our beautiful beaches on Summer. This day was a very fun one with my baby boy. Sun + beach = fun. I used Lawn Fawn and Stamp a Hoot stamps. The letters and the sand castle were cut with my Cricut. I also used Lawn Fawn dies. I'll enter this one to the Lawnscaping Challenges: Summer Color Combo. & Cut it Up Challenges: #49 Under the Sea.

Hope you all had a great Mother's Day yesterday! This post was supposed to go up yesterday but I totally forgot. Blame the "mommy brain"!!! ;) Anyway, I wanted to make something for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge "Create a background with stamps". I used my We R Memory Keepers pillow box punch board to make a cute box for a special Mother's Day gifts. I randomly stamped the pattern with "Penelope's Blossoms" stamp set (Lawn Fawn) and Clear and Simple hybrid inks. I also made a coordinating small tag that I tied with twine. Inside the box is a really cute South Hill Designs locket I made for my sister in law. She loved it! ;)

Espero que tod@s hayan tenido un lindo Día de las Madres. Esta entrada se supone que la publicara ayer, pero lo olvidé. Quería participar en la competencia de esta semana de Lawnscaping Challenge "Create a background with stamps". Utilicé el ponchador de "We R Memory Keepers" para cajas de forma de almohada para hacer una pequeña y linda caja para un regalo especial del Día de Madres. Estampé al azar imágenes del set "Penelope's Blossoms" de Lawn Fawn con tintas híbridas de "Clear and Simple". Hice también en combinación un pequeño tag que amarré con hilo. Dentro de la caja puse un hermoso relicario de  South Hill Designs que hice para mi cuñada. ¡Ella quedó encantada!

In today's card I'm inking for the first time this really cute stamp set I just got! You'll see more from this set. I just love it! I made a CAS card perfect for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge's challenge: Clean and Simple. I also used the Lawn Cuts coordinating with the "Float my Boat" set and "Cole's ABC's". The design paper is from Michael's (Oh! I miss going to Michael's) and I used blue washi tape for the "Hola".

En la tarjeta de hoy utilicé por primera vez este set de sellos que recientemente adquirí. Verán mas proyectos con ese set pues me encantó. Hice una tarjeta CAS perfecta para la competencia de esta semana de Lawnscaping Challenges: Clean and Simple. También usé los troqueles "Lawn Cuts" en coordinación al set "Float my Boat" y el de "Cole's ABC's". El papel de diseño es de la tienda Michael's (que mucho extraño ir a comprar ahí) y "washi tape" azul para el fondo de las letras.

I've been quiet this week since I've been super busy preparing for my class this Sunday on the 2nd Scrapbook Convention in Puerto Rico. For details about that, go HERE. I'm excited and nervous! Well, today's card is quite special. A new bundle of joy is on the way. Not me, btw... The family is very excited! I'm entering this card the Lawnscaping Challenges #76: Dust 'em off since I used a stamp set I haven't used in months, Lawn Fawn's "Plus one" and those Bella Blvd papers have been on my stash for quite a while too. More Dots and Hearts

I'm bringing you more Dots and Hearts today. Today's card is my second entry for Lawnscaping Challenges #75: Dots and Hearts. I wanted to make a card combining traditional Valentine's day colors with non-traditional Valentine's day colors. I found this patterned paper in my stash that's perfect. Orange and yellow are not usually used for Valentine's day. I used Lawn Cuts "Puffy Star Stackables" and "Circle Stackables" on black cardstock. Then heat embossed with white embossing powder the sentiment that is from "Lucky Stars" stamp set. I Copic colored the owls (Critters in the Forest) and die cut with the coordinating Lawn Cut. I used a paper punch for the heart. The "I love you" is from the "Good Fortune" set. I used some Doodlebug Design Sprinkles for the finishing touch. Hoy les traigo más puntos y corazones. La tarjeta de hoy es mi segunda entrada a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges #75: Dots and Hearts. Yo quería hacer una tarjeta que combinara colores tradicionales de San Valentín con colores no-tradicionales. Encontré este papel de diseño entre mis papeles que me pareció perfecto. El anaranjado y amarillo no son colores tradicionalmente usados para San Valentín. Usé los troqueles de Lawn Fawn, Lawn Cuts "Puffy Star Stackables" y "Circle Stackables" en cartulina negra. Luego con la técnica de "heat embossing" y "embossing powder" blanco estampé el pensamiento del set "Lucky Stars". Coloreé con Copics los buhos (Critters in the Forest) y los corté con el troquel en coordinación. Usé un ponchador de papel para cortar el corazón. El "I love you" es del set "Good Fortune" también de Lawn Fawn. Para completer la tarjeta, coloque "sprinkles" de Doodlebug Designs. Los veo mañana en la segunda entrada de la serie "Inspired".
