Happy Friday!

Today's card is a combination of 2 different inspiration photos. It's my second entry to the Sparkle and Shine Challenge Twelve and Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Mason Jar. I just couldn't resists doing another card with such a great inspiration photo. I added this time flowers and different patterned papers that were inspired also by the beautiful Monique Lhuillier dress on the Runway Inspired Challenge: ric90. inspiration photo. I spent quite a time masking the flowers, it takes me so long to do it but I always love the end result. All stamps are from Unity Stamp Co (Hi FWF friends).

La tarjeta de hoy es el producto de la combinación de dos fotos de inspiración. Esta será la segunda entrada a los retos de Sparkle and Shine Challenge Twelve y Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Mason Jar. No pude resistir hacer otra tarjeta para estos retos con esa foto tan linda de inspiración. Esta vez añadí flores y diferentes papeles de diseño que fueron inspirados por el hermoso traje de  Monique Lhuillier en la foto de inspiración del reto de Runway Inspired Challenge: ric90. Estuve un buen rato cubriendo y estampando ("masking technique") flores pero siempre me gusta el producto final de esta técnica. Todos los sellos son de Unity Stamp Co (Hola amigas de FWF).

¡Hola!

Yo estoy feliz porque pude pasar un ratito creando. Esta es mi terapia, algunos días muy necesaria. Hoy les traigo una tarjeta con una técnica que no está tan de moda pero perfecta para el regreso a clases, el "chalkboard technique". Para esta simple tarjeta combiné sellos de diferentes KOM de Unity Stamp Co. con papeles de diseño, hilo y lentejuelas. El sello de "Mason Jar" me encanta pues las palabras que tiene escrita son perfectas para describir a una persona que uno admire, como por ejemplo a ese maestro que impacta la vida de tus  hijos o de uno mismo. Yo tuve maestros excelentes que dejaron su huella. Le dedico esta tarjeta a cada uno de ellos. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en los siguientes retos: Sparkle and Shine Challenge Twelve, Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Mason Jar y Unity Be Inspired Challenge sketch 31

 

 

Hello!

I so happy I had the chance to craft a bit today. This is my much needed therapy. Today's card features a technique that is not that popular at the moment since almost everybody is watercoloring (nothing against that! it's beautiful) but perfect for back-to-school season, chalkboard technique. For this simple card I combined different KOM stamps from Unity Stamp Co. with patterned paper, twine and sequins. I love that mason jar stamp because the words inside perfectly describes someone that one may admire, like for example a teacher. I had great teachers that certainly did have an impact in my life. I dedicate this card to all of them. I'll enter this card to the following challenges: Sparkle and Shine Challenge Twelve, Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Mason Jar & Unity Be Inspired Challenge sketch 31.

Flamingo

Esta es mi segunda entrada del día. Esta tarjeta que les presento, la hice en un momentito que pude escaparme a mi taller. Estaba loca por participar en algunas competencias de las que sigo. En serio, que ya no aguantaba más. Combiné varias competencias para esta tarjeta. Los colores que utilicé están inspirados en la foto del reto de Runway Inspired Challenges RIC#89. Tan pronto ví la foto y sus colores pensé FLAMINGO. La imagen es de este set de Unity Stamp Co. Me encanta este set. Ya lo he usado en varias tarjetas. El flamingo lo coloreé con Copics. El patrón de "chevrons" fue hecho con un set de Latina Crafter con tinta negra al igual que el mensaje de "Feliz Cumpleaños". Por eso la tarjeta también la entraré en el reto de CAS-ual Fridays CFC142: Pretty Patterns. El flamingo se podría considerar un animal acuático ya que pasan mucho tiempo parados en el agua, así que entraré la tarjeta en el reto de CASology: Week 159: aquatic. Completé en diseño con lentejuelas plateadas siguiendo el esquema de colores de Runway Inspired Challenge.

This is my second entry of the day. I made this card also on a little break I had to escape to my craft room and play a little bit. I just couldn't wait any longer to enter some of the challenges I follow. I really couldn't! I combined 3 challenges on this card. The color combo for this card was inspired by the inspiration photo of the Runway Inspired Challenges RIC#89. As soon I saw the picture I thought FLAMINGO. The image is from this Unity Stamp Co set which I LOVE! I've done a few cards using it already. I colored the flamingo with Copics. The chevron pattern was done with a set from "Latina Crafter" stamps, as well as the sentiment, using black ink. Because of the pattern I created, I'm entering it too to the  CAS-ual Fridays CFC142: Pretty Patterns challenge. The flamingo could be considered an aquatic animal since they spend a LOT of time in water, so I'm also entering it to the  CASology: Week 159: aquatic. challenge. I complete the design with some silver sequins following the color combo of the Runway Inspired Challenge.

Mixed Media Canvas

Happy Friday everyone! As you have seen, I haven't done much crafting this summer. I've been spending quite some time with a very, VERY high energized toddler that takes all my attention. But I got to squeeze some time to do my very first mixed media canvas!!!! I got some new stamps from Unity Stamp Co that I still have to give some love too, but I just couldn't wait to ink this set. It is a 8" x 11" canvas. I watercolored the image with Distress Inks and watercolors. I also made the modeling paste I used (white acrylic paint, baby powder and glue). I had soooo much fun. Definitely will be making others in the near future! I'll share this with my Unity friends for the Friends with Flair link. Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win some stamps.

¡Feliz viernes a todos! Como han visto no he podido hacer casi manualidades este verano. He estado compartiendo mucho tiempo con un pequeñín que está lleno de mucha, MUCHA energía. Pude sacar un ratito para hacer mi primer "mixed media canvas". Compré algunos sellos nuevos de Unity Stamp Co que estoy loca por darles cariño, pero este set sencillamente no podía esperar. Es un canvas 8" x 11". La imágen la pinté con acuarelas y con Distress Inks. También preparé mi propio "modeling paste" (pintura acrílica blanca, pega blanca y polvo para bebés). Me encantó la experiencia así que estaré haciendo más canvas pronto. Compartiré mi proyecto con mis amigos de Unity en el Friends with Flair.
