Bueno, esta semana me inspiré en los '80. Así que para seguir en esa misma onda ;) escogí una canción de esta decada. Una tarea dificil por tantas canciones que podría escoger. Asi que verán más YTF con canciones de los '80. Cómo hablar de los '80 y no mencionar a Madonna. Revolucionó la música, la moda, los videos musicales, a TODO EL MUNDO. Hoy, existe Lady Gaga y la controversia de si es una copia de Madonna o no. Lo cierto es que Madonna es la original. En mi opinión Lady Gaga podría estar toda la vida tratando... nunca será Madonna. ;) Escogí una de mis canciones favoritas de ella: "La Isla Bonita". Esta está incluida en el CD "True Blue" lanzado en junio del 1986.  ¡Que lo disfruten! Feliz Viernes.

Well, this week I have been inspired by the 80's. So, to stay on the same track ;) I chose a song from that decade. A hard task considering all the great songs I could chose from! You'll be seen more YTF with 80's songs. How talk about the 80's without mentioning Madonna. She revolutionized music, fashion, music videos, EVERYBODY. Nowadays, there's Lady Gaga and the controversy of whether she's or she's not copying Madonna. The truth is Madonna is the original. In my opinion, Lady Gaga could spend a lifetime trying.... but she will never be Madonna. ;) I chose one of my favorite songs from her: "La Isla Bonita". It's included in the CD "True Blue" released in June 1986. Enjoy! Happy Friday!

I love the 80's/Amo los '80

¡Hola!

Cada vez que veo un arcoíris no puedo evitar pensar en aquellos dibujos animados que tanto me encantaban cuando niña "Rainbow Brite". O sea, yo quería un caballo blanco con el cabello de color arcoíris y caminar por encima de los arcoíris, vivir en "Rainbow Land" y tener de amigos a los "sprites" y los "color kids". ahhh ¡que lindos recuerdos! Que lástima que ya no hacen dibujos animados así. Todos los "muñequitos" de esa época, los '80, tenían una inocencia que ya no se ve. :/ Por los "muñequitos", la música, las películas, la moda entre otros... puedo decir: ¡Amo los '80! :) Tooooda esta conversación sobre los arcoíris surge luego de ver la foto inspiración para la competencia del blog Runway Inspired Challenge. No pude resistir hacer una tarjeta.                                 

Primero estampé en cartulina blanca con tinta Versamark el sello de fondo. Luego utilizé la técnica de "heat embossing" con polvo transparente. Para darle el toque de arcoíris, difuminé varios colores de "distress inks". Para darle un toque final, coloqué la cinta violeta, mi color favorito. :) También estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia del Unity Stamp Co. blog, "New Beginnings Challenge". Creo que los arcoíris también pueden ser considerados un nuevo comienzo tomando en cuenta el significado bíblico de estos.  La lista de suplidos está al final, luego de la versión en inglés.

Everytime I see a rainbow, I can't help but remember a cartoon I loved when I was a little girl: Rainbow Brite. I mean, I wanted a white horse with rainbow colored hair that ran over rainbows, live in Rainbow Land and have the Sprites and the Color Kids for friends. Ohhh those where good times! It's a shame they don't make cartoons like that anymore. All the 80's cartoons had an innocence that is not seen in the cartoons kids watch nowdays. :/ For the cartoons, the music, movies, fashion and more... I declare: I love the 80's! :) Alllllll this talk about rainbows came about after I saw the inspiration photo from the  Runway Inspired Challenge blog. I couldn't resist to make a card.

First, I stamp white cardstock with a background stamp with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. To make the rainbow I blended different distress ink colors. Then to finish it, I added the bow with purple ribbon, my favorite color. :) I'll also be entering this card to the Unity Stamp Co. blog, "New Beginnings Challenge". I think rainbows can say "new beginnings" too as we consider the biblical meaning it has.

Well, Christmas is officially over in PR. I've been kinda of busy putting away my Christmas tree :( and all the other decorations. In the bright side, Saint Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Oh my! I can't believe how fast 2012 is going! I have to confess, Saint Valentine's is not my favorite holiday. But I love making "love" cards. So, I can't wait to start making some. Tonight, I made this CAS card featuring the cute little owl from Lawn Fawn's "Critters from the Forest" set which I colored with Copics. The sentiment is "Te amo" which is "I love you" in Spanish. It's embossed with white embossing powder. To make the twine look twirled, I used glue dots. The heart shaped ballons are make from a paper punch and then colored with distress inks. This is be the first "love" card from me. I wanted to keep stamping but reality checked in :/ I have to sleep. I have work tomorrow. LOL I'm entering this card to the following challenges: Simon Says Stamps' "Spots &/or Stripes" Challenge & CAS-ual Fridays #35 "Highs & Lows". Supply list is below the Spanish version :)

Bueno, oficialmente se acabaron las Navidades en Puerto Rico. He estado un poquito ocupaba guardando todas las decoraciones y el arbolito de Navidad :( Pero al menos San Valentín está a la vuelta de la esquina. ¡Oh Dios! ¡No puedo creer lo rápido que va el 2012! Tengo que confesar que San Valentín no es mi día festivo favorito. Pero si me encanta hacer postales románticas. ¿Quién me entiende? jajaja Tengo muchas tarjetas que hacer así que ya tenía que comenzar. Esta noche les presento una tarjeta sencilla, estilo CAS con el lindo buho del set de sellos de Lawn Fawn "Critters from the Forest" el cual coloreé con Copics. El sentimiento "Te Amo" está estampado con la técnica de "heat embossing" con polvo blanco. Para hacer que el hilo rojo mantuviera su forma, utilizé puntos de pegamento "glue dots". Los globos en forma de corazón fueron cortados con un ponchador y coloreados con "distress inks" Esta será la primera tarjeta de amor para esta temporada. Realmente quería continuar estampando pero la realidad me llama :/ tengo que dormir. Mañana hay trabajo. jajaja Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en las siguientes competencias: Simon Says Stamps' "Spots &/or Stripes" Challenge & CAS-ual Fridays #35 "Highs & Lows".

Estoy devuelta con YTF después de un viernes de descanso (el Día de Reyes). Hoy les presento la canción "Preciosa" en la versión de Marc Anthony. No hay boricua que resista sentir orgullo al escuchar esta canción. Una letra del gran compositor puertorriqueño Rafael Hernández. Escogí esta canción porque este fin de semana se celebran unas fiestas muy tradicionales de Puerto Rico: Las fiestas de la calle San Sebastían. Para que conozcan más de estas fiestas pueden entrar aquí. Estamos de octavitas todavia :) Ya hay que ir desmontando el arbolito de Navidad. Pero que no nos preocupe eso. ¡En Puerto Rico siempre hay algo que celebrar! Que disfruten el video :)

I'm back with YTF after a Friday off (Three Kings Day). Today I'm presenting the song "Preciosa" in Marc Anthony's version. No Puerto Rican can resist to feel proud when listening to this song. The lyrics are by the great Puerto Rican composer Rafael Hernández. I chose this song because this weekend we are celebrating a very tradicional parties: "Las fiestas de la calle de San Sebastían. To learn more about this go here.  We are still celebrating Christmas over here :) but it's almost over so we have to start taking off all the Christmas decorations. But I don't have to worry about the Holidays being over. There's always something to celebrate in Puerto Rico! Enjoy the video :)
