Today's Friends with Flair card features this stamp set from Unity. I used twine and Glossy Accents as glue, to create a heart. The design paper is from the collection Jubilee from MME. Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win stamps from Unity!

Este sello de Lawn Fawn me gusta mucho. He usado en específico el fondo de estrellas ya en varios proyectos. Para este proyecto, las estrellas dicen presente nuevamente pero de una manera muy sutil. El protagonista en esta ocasión es el arco iris. Usé colores que coordinan con el papel de diseño de una libreta 6x6 de Echo Park (Capture Life). El "wood veneer" me lo habían regalado hace algún tiempo y quedó perfecto en esta tarjeta. El troquel de foto es de Lawn Fawn. Al marco de la foto, le dí textura con la técnica de "dry embossing". Usé "scraps" de otros papeles para hacer banderines que fijé con una "cámara". Añadí hilo dorado para un toquecito de brillo. Estaré entrando la tarjeta a la competencia de Simon Says All things bright and beautiful.

This Lawn Fawn set is one of my favorites (I honestly can't pick just one). I've used the stars background in quite a few projects. In this card, the stars are present but very subtle in the background. The main image this time is the rainbow. I used inks that coordinated with the design paper from a 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park (Capture Life). I had that wood veneer in my stash but don't remember from what company. The picture die is from Lawn Fawn too. I dry embossed it for some texture with the Cuttlebug. I used scraps from other papers to make the flags to which I added a camera shaped pin. I added some gold thread to add some sparkle to the card. I'll enter this card to the Simon Says All things bright and beautiful challenge.

Love is in the air!

Well, February is here so in two weeks most of us will be stuffing our faces with chocolate (like I need an excuse for it LOL). I already started making Valentine's day cards a few days back. I made this one using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I dry embossed the clouds for some dimension and the hot air balloon was paper pieced. The little hearts were also die cut using Lawn Cuts. The sentiment stamp is from Latina Crafter. The background was color with Distress Inks. By now you guys should know that I love making cards starting with only white cardstock! I'll enter this one to: Cut it up Challenge #63: embossing and Simon Says anything goes.

Bueno, ya llegó febrero así que en menos de dos semanas la mayoría estaremos comiendo chocolates (como si hiciera falta una excusa para eso jijiji). Yo comencé a hacer mis tarjetas de San Valentín ya hace unos días. Para esta tarjeta usé sellos y troqueles de Lawn Fawn. Con la técnica de "dry embossing" le dí textura a las nubes. Los pequeños corazones también fueron cortados con troqueles Lawn Cuts. El mensaje es un sello de Latina Crafter. El color de fondo es Distress Inks. Como ya Deben saber, me encanta comenzar una tarjeta con solo cartulina blanca y yo darle forma y color. Entraré la tarjeta a las siguientes competencias: Cut it up Challenge #63: embossing y Simon Says anything goes.

Today I'm presenting you another CAS card. This one, I made using the inlay technique with Lawn Cuts dies and Doodlebug Designs Inc design papers. I wanted to have some sparkle so of course I added some sequins. I completed it with some twine. I'll be entering this one to the following challenge, Simon Says Have a Heart.

Hoy les present otra tarjetita CAS. Esta la hice con la técnica de "inlay" con troqueles de Lawn Fawn y con papeles de diseño de Doodlebug Designs Inc. Para añadirle ese toque de brillo, le pegué lentejuelas. Y para completer use hilo para hacer un pequeño lazo. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la siguiente competencia: Simon Says Have a Heart.

Hoy les traigo otra tarjeta del estilo que tanto me gusta, CAS, sencilla y elegante. Usé cartulina blanca, y pintura de acrílico diluida en agua para el fondo. Los corazones son en fieltro y los corte con troqueles de Lawn Fawn. Para las letras, utilicé esa cartulina escarchada que compré en Navidades de la que he usado cada pequeño pedazo que he cortado pues me encanta. Las corté también con troqueles de Lawn Fawn. Complete la tarjeta con lentejuelas rojas. Estaré entrando la tarjeta a las competencias de CAS-ual Fridays:CFC135: Felt and sequins y en Simon Says Have a Heart.

Today's card is made in my favorite style, CAS. I used white cardstock and some paint diluted in water which I sprayed to make the background. The felt hearts were die cut using Lawn Cuts from Lawn Fawn. For the letters, which read "Te amo" (I love you), I used that glittered cardstock in gold I got on Christmas. I've used every little piece I've cut because I just simple love it. I used a Lawn Fawn die for those too. I completed the card with red sequins. I'll be entering it to the CAS-ual Fridays:CFC135: Felt and sequins and Simon Says Have a Heart.

First blog post of the new year. I know, kinda late. Sorry for that! Today's card is the first one I make for the upcoming Valentine's Day. I don't know if I have written about this before, but Valentine's day is not my favorite holiday. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE making cards for it, but don't actually enjoy the holiday. Why? I have no idea! LOL Well, I finally had the chance to ink 2 Lawn Fawn sets that had been sitting on my table for a while know. I made this card for the "Create a background" Challenge from Lawnscaping Challenges. I used "Wished you were here", "Argyle backdrops", "Schoolhouse backdrops" and "Woodgrain backdrops". I colored the world with watercolors. I will also add this one to the Simon Says Have a Heart Challenge.

La primera entrada que hago para este nuevo año. Lo sé, un poco tarde. ¡Lo siento mucho! La tarjeta de hoy es la primera que hago para el Día de San Valentín. No sé si he escrito esto antes, pero la realidad es que este día feriado no es mi favorite. No me tomen a mal, me ENCANTA hacer tarjetas para la ocasión, pero no disfruto de celebrar el día. ¿Por qué? ¡Ni idea! jajaja Bueno, al fin tuve la oportunidad de usar dos sets de sellos de Lawn Fawn que llevaban un tiempo sobre mi mesa de trabajo. Hice esta tarjeta para la competencia de  "Create a background" Challenge from Lawnscaping Challenges. Usé los sets: "Wished you were here", "Argyle backdrops", "Schoolhouse backdrops" y "Woodgrain backdrops". Coloreé el mundo con acuarelas. Estaré añadiendo la tarjeta también al siguiente reto, Simon Says Have a Heart Challenge.

I'm bringing you more Dots and Hearts today. Today's card is my second entry for Lawnscaping Challenges #75: Dots and Hearts. I wanted to make a card combining traditional Valentine's day colors with non-traditional Valentine's day colors. I found this patterned paper in my stash that's perfect. Orange and yellow are not usually used for Valentine's day. I used Lawn Cuts "Puffy Star Stackables" and "Circle Stackables" on black cardstock. Then heat embossed with white embossing powder the sentiment that is from "Lucky Stars" stamp set. I Copic colored the owls (Critters in the Forest) and die cut with the coordinating Lawn Cut. I used a paper punch for the heart. The "I love you" is from the "Good Fortune" set. I used some Doodlebug Design Sprinkles for the finishing touch. Hoy les traigo más puntos y corazones. La tarjeta de hoy es mi segunda entrada a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges #75: Dots and Hearts. Yo quería hacer una tarjeta que combinara colores tradicionales de San Valentín con colores no-tradicionales. Encontré este papel de diseño entre mis papeles que me pareció perfecto. El anaranjado y amarillo no son colores tradicionalmente usados para San Valentín. Usé los troqueles de Lawn Fawn, Lawn Cuts "Puffy Star Stackables" y "Circle Stackables" en cartulina negra. Luego con la técnica de "heat embossing" y "embossing powder" blanco estampé el pensamiento del set "Lucky Stars". Coloreé con Copics los buhos (Critters in the Forest) y los corté con el troquel en coordinación. Usé un ponchador de papel para cortar el corazón. El "I love you" es del set "Good Fortune" también de Lawn Fawn. Para completer la tarjeta, coloque "sprinkles" de Doodlebug Designs. Los veo mañana en la segunda entrada de la serie "Inspired".

Continuamos con las tarjetas de amor. Hoy les traigo una que me encanta. Utilicé los Lawn Cuts de Lawn Fawn (Cole's ABCs) y el sello es de Latina Crafter. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Cut it Up Challenge #38: Valentine's Day. Es la primera vez que participo en esta competencia, asi que suerte para mi. ;) Más tarde hoy, estaré publicando detalles sobre mi clase en la 2da Convención de Scrapbook de PR.

Hoy les traigo otra tarjetita llena de amor. La imagen es de la línea de sellos Stamp.a.Hoot, y se llama "Gifts just for you". La técnica del fondo es inspirada en este tutorial que utiliza los Distress Inks y agua para estampar. Olvidé usar "watercolor paper" así que no quedó como quería pero de todos modos me gustó el resultado así que decidí usarlo. ¡Tengo que volver a intentarlo! Los otros sellos son de Latina Crafter. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love Note. ¡Hasta mañana!

Today's card is filled with love. That cute boy is from the stamp line Stamp.a.Hoot and it is called "Gifts just for you". The technique for the background is inspired by this tutorial that uses water to stamp. I forgot to use watercolor paper so I didn't get the effect as I wanted but still I liked how it turned out so I used it. I have to try again! The sentiment stamps are from Latina Crafter. I'll enter this card to  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love Note. See you tomorrow!

Hello everyone!

I've been very busy making Valentine's day cards and getting ready for the 2nd Scrapbook Convention hosted by Revista Papeles y Más in which I'll be teaching a class. More details about that soon! I loved this stamp set from Unity Stamp Co from the first time I saw it and I HAD to have it. I made this CAS card using it! I masked the lid with washi tape when I stamped the jar. Then inked only the lid and stamped it beside it. I used Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, Copics, rhinestones, red ribbon and a stapler for the final touch. I'll enter this one in the following challenges: CASology: Week 81: And, & CAS-ual Fridays:CFC 127: Over the edge.

He estado bien ocupada haciendo postales de San Valentín y preparándome para la 2da Convención de Scrapbook auspiciada por la  Revista Papeles y Más en la cual estaré enseñando una clase. ¡Pronto, más detalles al respecto! Tan pronto ví este set de sellos de Unity Stamp Co supe que TENIA que tenerlo. Hice una tarjeta CAS con el set. Tapé la parte de la tapa de la jarra con "washi tape" cuando la estampé. Luego puse tinta solo en la tapa para estamparla al lado de la jarra. Utilicé tinta de Memento Ink en Tuxedo Black, Copics, rhinestones, cinta roja y una grapadora para darle el toque final. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a las siguientes competencias: CASology: Week 81: And, & CAS-ual Fridays:CFC 127: Over the edge.

A fairytale/Un cuento de hadas

Este es mi segundo post del día, tengo que aprovechar que mi pequeño Juancarlo está tomando su siesta ;) La tarjeta que les presento estará participando en la competencia de CASology:Fairytale. Me encanta este sello de Unity Stamp Co. asi que cualquier excusa es buena para usarlo. El pensamiento es hermoso, como de cuento de hadas. También estaré entrando esta tarjeta en la competencia de Simon Says Stamp Challenge "Have a Heart" Como no sé si podré escribirles de nuevo antes del 14, les deseo a todos que tengan un Feliz Día de San Valentín.

Love song/canción de amor

This week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC89 is called "Love Song". I made this card inspired by the song "Feels like Forever" from the movie "The Cutting Edge". It's one of my favorite movies and I just loooove the song. I think the sentiment in the card describes how deep is the love the song is talking about. I did dry embossing on Core-dinations cardstock for the background and the "I love you" part is heat embossed. I'm also entering it to Simon Says Stamp Challenge "Have a Heart". Well, I'm off to bake some chocolate cupcakes yummm :)

La competencia de esta semana de CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC89 se llama "Love Song". Hice esta tarjeta inspirada en la canción "Feels like Forever" de la película "The Cutting Edge".  Esa película es una de mis favoritas y la canción me fascina. Creo que el pensamiento de la tarjeta describe muy bien el amor del que habla la canción. Hice "dry embossing" en cartulina "Core-dinations" para el fondo y para el "I love you" utilicé la técnica de "heat embossed". También estaré entrando esta tarjeta en la competencia Simon Says Stamp Challenge "Have a Heart. Bueno, me voy a hornear unos cupcakes de chocolate yummmm :)

Be my Valentine

I got so inspired with this weeks Lawnscaping Challenge #51 Be my Valentine, that I made another card. I got this past December the Lawn Fawn set "Critters in the Snow" and since I couldn't make Christmas cards, well Mr. Penguin is sending his Valentine a note. The notes read "Te amo" which is "I love you" in Spanish. I also used some Bella Blvd washi tape and the Lawn Fawn set "schoolhouse backdrops".

 

 

Me inspiró tanto la competencia de esta semana de Lawnscaping Challenge #51 Be my Valentine, que hice más tarjetas. Este pasado diciembre compré el set de Lawn Fawn set "Critters in the Snow" y como no pude hacer tarjetas navideñas pues el Sr. Pinguino le está enviando una nota a su enamorada. También utilizé "washi tape" de Bella Blvd y el set "schoolhouse backdrops" de Lawn Fawn.

San Valentín/Saint Valentines

¡Hola!

Todavía ando haciendo ajustes en mi nueva vida de madre y con los cambios adicionales que he tenido recientemente. Decidí renunciar a mi trabajo en enero para dedicar todo mi tiempo a mi chiquito. Estoy organizándome poco a poco para tener más tiempo para el blog y para crear. Ya escucharán de mi más frecuente :) Les presentó esta tarjeta que hice con tema de San Valentín. Utilizé sellos de Lawn Fawn y Stampin' Up. Utilizé la técnica de "paper piecing" la cual he estado practicando y me gusta mucho. Para darle un toque especial a la tarjeta, hice las nubes estampando dos corazones pequeños juntos. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenge #51 Be my Valentine. Pronto les estaré enseñando más postales con el tema del amor!!! :)

I'm still making adjustments to my new mommy life and with the recent additional changes in my life. I quit my day job this January to spend more time with my baby boy. I'm organizing myself little by little to have more time for the blog and other projects. Your be hearing from me more in the time to come. :) I made this card for Valentine's Day using Lawn Fawn and Stampin' Up stamps. The sentiment means "Thinking of you". I did paper piecing which I have been practicing a lot lately. To give a special touch to the card, I made the clouds stamping two small hearts together. I love it!!! I'll be entering this card in the Lawnscaping Challenge #51 Be my Valentine. See you soon!!! :)

Owl in love/Buho enamorado

Well, Christmas is officially over in PR. I've been kinda of busy putting away my Christmas tree :( and all the other decorations. In the bright side, Saint Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Oh my! I can't believe how fast 2012 is going! I have to confess, Saint Valentine's is not my favorite holiday. But I love making "love" cards. So, I can't wait to start making some. Tonight, I made this CAS card featuring the cute little owl from Lawn Fawn's "Critters from the Forest" set which I colored with Copics. The sentiment is "Te amo" which is "I love you" in Spanish. It's embossed with white embossing powder. To make the twine look twirled, I used glue dots. The heart shaped ballons are make from a paper punch and then colored with distress inks. This is be the first "love" card from me. I wanted to keep stamping but reality checked in :/ I have to sleep. I have work tomorrow. LOL I'm entering this card to the following challenges: Simon Says Stamps' "Spots &/or Stripes" Challenge & CAS-ual Fridays #35 "Highs & Lows". Supply list is below the Spanish version :)

Bueno, oficialmente se acabaron las Navidades en Puerto Rico. He estado un poquito ocupaba guardando todas las decoraciones y el arbolito de Navidad :( Pero al menos San Valentín está a la vuelta de la esquina. ¡Oh Dios! ¡No puedo creer lo rápido que va el 2012! Tengo que confesar que San Valentín no es mi día festivo favorito. Pero si me encanta hacer postales románticas. ¿Quién me entiende? jajaja Tengo muchas tarjetas que hacer así que ya tenía que comenzar. Esta noche les presento una tarjeta sencilla, estilo CAS con el lindo buho del set de sellos de Lawn Fawn "Critters from the Forest" el cual coloreé con Copics. El sentimiento "Te Amo" está estampado con la técnica de "heat embossing" con polvo blanco. Para hacer que el hilo rojo mantuviera su forma, utilizé puntos de pegamento "glue dots". Los globos en forma de corazón fueron cortados con un ponchador y coloreados con "distress inks" Esta será la primera tarjeta de amor para esta temporada. Realmente quería continuar estampando pero la realidad me llama :/ tengo que dormir. Mañana hay trabajo. jajaja Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en las siguientes competencias: Simon Says Stamps' "Spots &/or Stripes" Challenge & CAS-ual Fridays #35 "Highs & Lows".
