Hello!

This month's "Inspired" project is a birthday card. It's inspired by a visit I did last summer with my stepsons and baby JT to the Children's Museum in Carolina, Puerto Rico. We had a lot of fun that day! From all the exhibits there, the kids learned a lot in one from the Universe. It had this computer thing in the middle where an employee selected a planet from the Solar System and the huge ball in the middle lighted up with the image of the planets and he then gave very interesting info of that planet (see pic below). I'm planning to take them again to the museum soon. If you visit PR, and have kids, it's a must go. So, I made an space bday card, future robot included. I used a stamp set from Michael's, Stampin' Up & Lawn Fawn and lots of distress inks and Copics.

El proyecto "Inspired" de este mes es una tarjeta de cumpleaños. Está inspirada por la visita que dimos mis hijastros, JT y yo al Museo del Niño en Carolina, Puerto Rico el pasado verano. ¡Que mucho nos divertimos ese día! De todas las exhibiciones, los chicos aprendieron mucho en una que era del Universo. Tenía una computadora al centro donde un empleado seleccionaba un planeta del Sistema Solar y una bola gigante se prendía con la imagen del planeta entonces él daba datos interesantes sobre el planeta. Estoy planificando volver a llevarlos pronto. Si visitas a PR y tienes niños, deben ir. Pues, hice una tarjeta de cumpleaños espacial, robot incluido. Usé sellos de Lawn Fawn, Stampin Up y Michael's más mucho "distress inks" y Copics.

Today's card is a very special one. The focal point is my baby's hand! :) I made this card, with his help of course, for my husband's birthday. He loved it! It also features some washi tape, twine and Latina Crafter's & Stampin Up stamps. Enjoy!

La tarjeta de hoy es una muy especial. ¡El punto focal es la manita de mi bebé! Hice esta tarjeta, con la ayudante de mi asistente claro está, para el cumpleaños de mi esposo. ¡A él le encantó! La tarjeta también tiene "washi tape", hilo y sellos de Latina Crafter y Stampin Up. Espero les guste.

Bueno, el día de los Padres ya se acerca. El hacer tarjetas "masculinas" no es tan fácil como parece. Hice esta tarjeta pensando en que las niñas son las princesas de papá siempre, no importa la edad. El primer amor de una niña su papá, su REY. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en las siguientes competencias: Simon Says... Take a Picture, CASology, y en Lawnscaping Challenge: Clean and Simple. Utilizé sellos de Lawn Fawn: "Hats off to you", "Say Chesse", "Quinn's ABC" y "Harold's ABC". También el troquel en coordinación con "Say Cheese Lawn Cuts" y "Quinn's ABC cuts", papel de diseño de Stampin Up, cartulina de Colorbok y Stampin Up, tinta Memento Ink en Tuxedo Black, "rhinestones" de Stampin Up, Copics, y lentejuelas dorados.

 

 

Well, Father's Day is just around the corner. Making masculine cards is not an easy task. I did this one thinking about how little girls are always daddy's princesses no matter how old they get. A girl's first love is her dad, her KING. This one will be entered in the following challenges: Simon Says... Take a Picture, CASology, and Lawnscaping Challenge: Clean and Simple. I used stamps from Lawn Fawn: "Hats off to you", "Say Chesse", "Quinn's ABC" & "Harold's ABC". I also used the dies for "Say Cheese Lawn Cuts" & "Quinn's ABC cuts", design paper from Stampin Up, Colorbok and Stampin Up cardstock, Memento Ink inTuxedo Black, rhinestones de Stampin Up, Copics, & gold sequins.

¡Hola!

Hoy les presento una tarjeta sencilla de cumpleaños. Este es mi estilo favorito de crear, limpio y sencillo o CAS. En esta ocasión utilizé los sellos de Lawn Fawn del set que escogí como premio por ganar esta competencia. Escogí el set Blissful Botanicals. Es un set muy versatile. También utilizé "Washi tape" de Bella blvd y de los "dollar bins" de Michaels (que ya no son a $1 si no $1.50). Y para darle toque final unos "rhinestones" de Stampin' Up. Otros materiales incluyen: Copics, cartulina de Stampin Up y Colorbok, y sellos de Pink by Design. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenges #58 Clean and Simple.

PS Disculpen la calidad de las fotos últimamente. Mi pequeño "photo light box" se rompió y el que adquirí no me gusta para nada. ¡Ya pronto tendré otro!

 

 

Hello!

Today's card is a simple Happy Birthday card. This is my favorite style of card designing, Clean and Simple or CAS. This time I used the Lawn Fawn set I won for winning this challenge. I chose the Blissful Botanicals. set. It's a very versatile set. I also used washi tape from Bella Blvd and those dollar bins at Michaels (which are actually $1.50 now). To add some sparkle, I used some rhinestones from Stampin' Up. Other materials include: Copics, Stampin Up & Colorbok cardstock and Pink by Design stamps. I'll be entering this to Lawnscaping Challenges #58 Clean and Simple.

PS Excuse the pics quality lately. My small photo light box broke and the one I bought I don't like it a bit. I'm making a new one!

Well, looks like I found some more time to blog. Baby's sound asleep so here I am. The card that I'm showing you is inspired by the Runway Inspired Challenge RIC#29 Dsquared2. My inspiration, the colors and the bags. Actually I made two cards inspired in this picture. I sure love that fushia! Cardstock, stamps and inks are from Stampin Up.I tried to keep it as simple as possible. Lately, I've been doing a lot of CAS cards and I love it!

Bueno, encontre otro ratito para escribir. El bebo esta dormidito asi que estoy aprovechando. Esta tarjeta la hice inspirada en la competencia de Runway Inspired Challenge RIC#29 Dsquared2. Mi inspiración fueron los colores y las maletas. Hice dos tarjetas para esta competencia. La otra se las muestro en otro "post".Es que me gusta mucho el color fushia. La cartulina, sellos y tintas son de Stampin Up. Mantuve el diseño lo más sencillo possible. Ultimamente he estado hacienda tarjetas CAS y me encanta!

San Valentín/Saint Valentines

¡Hola!

Todavía ando haciendo ajustes en mi nueva vida de madre y con los cambios adicionales que he tenido recientemente. Decidí renunciar a mi trabajo en enero para dedicar todo mi tiempo a mi chiquito. Estoy organizándome poco a poco para tener más tiempo para el blog y para crear. Ya escucharán de mi más frecuente :) Les presentó esta tarjeta que hice con tema de San Valentín. Utilizé sellos de Lawn Fawn y Stampin' Up. Utilizé la técnica de "paper piecing" la cual he estado practicando y me gusta mucho. Para darle un toque especial a la tarjeta, hice las nubes estampando dos corazones pequeños juntos. Estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de Lawnscaping Challenge #51 Be my Valentine. Pronto les estaré enseñando más postales con el tema del amor!!! :)

 

 

 

Hi!

I'm still making adjustments to my new mommy life and with the recent additional changes in my life. I quit my day job this January to spend more time with my baby boy. I'm organizing myself little by little to have more time for the blog and other projects. Your be hearing from me more in the time to come. :) I made this card for Valentine's Day using Lawn Fawn and Stampin' Up stamps. The sentiment means "Thinking of you". I did paper piecing which I have been practicing a lot lately. To give a special touch to the card, I made the clouds stamping two small hearts together. I love it!!! I'll be entering this card in the Lawnscaping Challenge #51 Be my Valentine. See you soon!!! :)

Ya mi pequeño hijo cumplió sus dos meses de vida. Ha sido dos meses llenos de alegría, lecciones y mucho amor. Poco a poco voy acostumbrándome a mi nuevo ritmo de vida y a las pocas horas de sueño. Así que poco a poco comenzaré al fin a crear nuevamente y a escribir en el blog. Hoy les quiero presentar un álbum que hice una semanas antes de dar a luz para mi pequeño hijo. La intención era que cada persona que lo visitara en sus primeras semanas de vida le escribiera un breve mensaje para cuando sea "grande" enseñarle cuán querido es. Además dejé algunos espacios en blanco para colocar sus primeras fotografías. :) Utilizé los siguientes materiales: Papeles de diseño,"stickers" y "chipboard stickers" de Bella Blvd de la línea "We're expecting", tintas,perlas, ponchadores, cartulinas y "rhinestones" de Stampin' Up, botones, papeles de diseño de Office Max, Cartulina de Colorbok (Walmart), botones, hilo, sellos de Lawn Fawn y Unity Stamp Co y el álbum de "chipboard" de los "dollar bins" de las tiendas Michaels. Espero les guste.

Hi everyone:

My baby boy is already two months old. These past two months have been filled with joy, lessons and tons of love. I'm getting use to my new mommy life (lack of sleep included lol). I'm starting to get organized to finally start creating for you guys and to write in my blog. Today, I'm presenting a chipboard album I made a few weeks before my baby was born. I wanted everyone who came and visit him his firsts weeks of life to write him a short message so when he grows up, I'll show it to him. I also left a few spaces blank for his firsts pictures. :) I used the following supplies: Patterned paper, stickers, chipboard stickers from Bella Blvd "We're expecting", inks, pearls, punches and rhinestones from Stampin Up, buttons, patterned paper from Office Max, Cardstock from Colorbok (Walmart), twine, stamps from Lawn Fawn and Unity Stamp Co and the chipboard album is from those fabulous dollar bins from Michaels. Hope you all like it!

Quick and Simple/Rápido y Fácil

Today I'll show you a super quick and simple way to wrap up gifts, mostly clothing items. I know Christmas day already passed, but in PR, Christmas doesn't end until after January 14. Yes, we do have the longest Christmas celebrations in the world. :) I use this paper bags I bought at Walmart, very cheap!

 

 

For the tags, I used a tag punch from Creative Memories. Then, using some markers I've had for a few years called "Blow Pens", I "sprayed" the tags.

 

 

Next, I stamped the sentiment on the tags. Since these are for Christmas presents, I stamped "Feliz Navidad".

 

 

 

 



Then using a Stampin Up punch (5-Petal Flower), I made poinsettias! I used red and green cardstock (Stampin Up). Using gold glitter glue (I don't own any Stickles. I'm cheap ;)  so I buy glitter glue at Walmart), I completed the poinsettias.

 

Let the glitter glue dry, then glue the flowers to the tags. Finally, I punched two holes on the top of the paper bags and attached the tags using raffia ribbon. Here's the finished look. There you go, quick and simple. You could do this for any occasion by just using different colors and sentiments. Hope you like it! :)

 

 

¡Hola!
Hoy les voy a enseñar una manera muy sencilla y rápida de envolver regalos, en especial piezas de ropa. Se que el día de Navidad ya pasó, pero aquí en PR, las Navidades no se acaban hasta después del día 14 de enero. Tenemos las Navidades más largas del mundo. :) Comenzé utilizando bolsas de papel que compré en Walmart, super económicas. Para las etiquetas, utilize un ponchador de etiquetas de Creative Memories. Luego utilizando unos marcadores que he tenido por muchos años llamados "Blow Pens", "rocié" las etiquetas. Como estas etiquetas son para regalos de Navidad, estampé "Feliz Navidad" en todas. Luego utilizando un ponchador de flor de Stampin Up (5-petal flower), ponché en cartulina roja y verde para hacer pascuas. Utilizando pega de brillo dorada (yo las compro en Walmart. Es mucho más económico que los "Stickles"), hice el centro de las pascuas. Luego de dejar secar la pega de brillo, pegué la flor a la etiqueta. Con un ponchador regular de papel, hice 2 huecos en las bolsas de papel. Utilizé cinta de raffia para decorar las bolsas y adjuntar las etiquetas. ¡Y ya está! Muy rápido, sencillo y económico. Lo mismo se podría hacer para diferentes ocasiones con tan solo cambiar los colores y el mensaje. Espero les haya gustado.

I'll keep this one short and sweet since my baby is about to wake up. LOL Well, I did this card for my brother and his family 'cause I sure miss them. I'll be entering it in the Lawnscaping blog challenge Dust Em off. I had never used those stamps that are from Unity Stamp Co. and I haven't used white ink in a while so it perfectly fits the challenge. I'll also enter Young Crafters Unite Challenge #15 Warm and Cozy colors.

  

 

I used SU's Crystal Effects to make it look like real glass ;)

Esta entrada es cortita y precisa ya que mi bebé está a punto de despertarse. jajaja Bueno, hice esta tarjeta para mi hermano y su familia ya que los extraño mucho y espero verlos pronto. Estaté entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de "Lawnscaping blog" Dust Em off. Nunca había usado esos sellos que son de Unity Stamp Co. y hace tiempo que no utilizaba tinta blanca así que la tarjeta cualifica para la competencia. También estaré participando de la competencia #15 de "Young Crafters Unite Challenge Warm and Cozy colors.

¡Hola!

Estoy aprovechando el tiempo que me queda para crear unas cuantas postales. Ya tengo 35 semanas de embarazo así que prontito tendré a mi bebé conmigo. Recientemente, mi familia me celebró mi "baby shower". Estuvo todo muy bonito. Al bebé, gracias a Dios, no le hace falta nada. Va a estar tan rodeado de amor...

Su abuelito Félix y su "tití" Nelly le hicieron unos regalitos muy especiales por lo tanto les hice esta tarjeta de agradecimiento.

Esta tarjeta estará participando en las siguientes competencias: Lawnscaping challenges Sketch, CAS-ual Fridays CFC69 Embossing y en Simon Says Stamps Challenges Put a Stamp on IT.

I'm using the time left before giving birth to my baby boy to create a few cards. I'm 35 weeks so very soon I'll have my baby with me. Recently my family celebrated my Baby Shower. Everything came out perfectly. We had a great time. The baby has everything he needs. He'll be surrounded with tons of love! He's granddaddy Félix and "aunty" Nelly gave him some special gifts so I wanted to thank them with this card I created. Un post corto para presentarles esta tarjeta que hice para una compañera. Luego de un pequeño "bloqueo mental" al tomar en mis manos una libreta de papel de diseños, llegó la inspiración. A short post to present you a card I made for a colleague. After a bit of a "creative block", I just took a 6x6 patterned paper pad, and the inspiration started to flow. The stamps are from Unity Stamp Co. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye's Vanity Fair. The rest of the materials are from Stampin Up. Hello! I'm finally back! I feel so guilty for not posting on the blog :/ I've been kinda busy and a lot of things are happening in my life. But, lets cut to the chase! So many challenges I want to participate, I don't know were to start LOL Here's my card:

I made this one inspired by the photo from the Lily Pad Challenge: Sweet Stamp shop presents Virginia's view. It has candy and lots of dots! The "LOVE" stamp from Unity Stamp Co. December 2011 KOM (which I love btw) was perfect for this challenge. I "highlighted" the dots with some glitter glue and then covered the whole stamped imaged with crystal effects (Stampin Up). Yummy! Add some patterned paper and a bow and I was DONE :) I'm also entering it to the CAS-ual Fridays "Tie One On".

¡Hola! Al fin estoy de vuelta. Me siento tan culpable por "abandonar" el blog :/ He estado un poco ocupada. Están ocurriendo muchas cosas muy bonitas en mi vida. Ahora al grano. Tantas competencias inspirándome que no si ni por dónde comenzar. La tarjeta que les presenté fue inspirada por Lily Pad Challenge: Sweet Stamp shop presents Virginia's view. La foto tiene muchos dulces y puntos, no pude resistir. El sello de "LOVE" de Unity Stamp Co. December 2011 KOM (el cual me encanta) era perfecto para esta competencia. Resalté los puntos con un poco de pega de brillo plateada y luego cubrí el resto de la imagen con "crystal effects" (Stampin Up). Yummy! Un poco de papel decorado, un lazo y LISTO :) También estaré entrando esta tarjeta a la competencia de CAS-ual Fridays  "Tie One On".

Owl in love/Buho enamorado

Well, Christmas is officially over in PR. I've been kinda of busy putting away my Christmas tree :( and all the other decorations. In the bright side, Saint Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Oh my! I can't believe how fast 2012 is going! I have to confess, Saint Valentine's is not my favorite holiday. But I love making "love" cards. So, I can't wait to start making some. Tonight, I made this CAS card featuring the cute little owl from Lawn Fawn's "Critters from the Forest" set which I colored with Copics. The sentiment is "Te amo" which is "I love you" in Spanish. It's embossed with white embossing powder. To make the twine look twirled, I used glue dots. The heart shaped ballons are make from a paper punch and then colored with distress inks. This is be the first "love" card from me. I wanted to keep stamping but reality checked in :/ I have to sleep. I have work tomorrow. LOL I'm entering this card to the following challenges: Simon Says Stamps' "Spots &/or Stripes" Challenge & CAS-ual Fridays #35 "Highs & Lows". Supply list is below the Spanish version :)

Bueno, oficialmente se acabaron las Navidades en Puerto Rico. He estado un poquito ocupaba guardando todas las decoraciones y el arbolito de Navidad :( Pero al menos San Valentín está a la vuelta de la esquina. ¡Oh Dios! ¡No puedo creer lo rápido que va el 2012! Tengo que confesar que San Valentín no es mi día festivo favorito. Pero si me encanta hacer postales románticas. ¿Quién me entiende? jajaja Tengo muchas tarjetas que hacer así que ya tenía que comenzar. Esta noche les presento una tarjeta sencilla, estilo CAS con el lindo buho del set de sellos de Lawn Fawn "Critters from the Forest" el cual coloreé con Copics. El sentimiento "Te Amo" está estampado con la técnica de "heat embossing" con polvo blanco. Para hacer que el hilo rojo mantuviera su forma, utilizé puntos de pegamento "glue dots". Los globos en forma de corazón fueron cortados con un ponchador y coloreados con "distress inks" Esta será la primera tarjeta de amor para esta temporada. Realmente quería continuar estampando pero la realidad me llama :/ tengo que dormir. Mañana hay trabajo. jajaja Estaré entrando esta tarjeta en las siguientes competencias: Simon Says Stamps' "Spots &/or Stripes" Challenge & CAS-ual Fridays #35 "Highs & Lows".

¿A quién no le gustan los cumpleaños? Bueno... quizas a los que quisieran cumplir 15 toda la vida JAJAJA pero la realidad es que la mayoría de nosotros recuerda su cumpleaños #21 ;) Esta semana hemos estado celebrando en mi familia MUCHOS cumpleaños. Los cumpleaños son la oportunidad perfecta para compartir en familia y pasarla bien. Asi que con tanto cumpleaños por supuesto que hice una postal de cumple para presentarles. Snow Penguins/Pingüinos de Nieve

Today I'm presenting a card that I had a LOT fun making. I find penguins sooo cute. I spent a lot of time making the card but loved the final results!

Penguins are cute, PERIOD. LOL For the sparkling snow at the top, I did the pattern using Crystal Effects from Stampin Up on wax paper then sprinkled the glitter and let it dry a few hours. It peels of easily from the paper once it's dry. The cute penguins are from the Mimi's Christmas set from Penny Black. I also used Stampin Up's white cardstock, Copics to color the penguins, Enamel accents in Black, Memento ink (Tuxedo Black), lots of dimensionals and patterned paper from one of those stacks they sell at Michael's. I'm entering this card to the following challenge: Anything goes Challenge-Simon Says Stamp and ICopic Weekly Challenge #62.

Me divertí mucho haciendo esta tarjeta que les presento. Estos pingüinos son super lindos :) Me tomó mucho tiempo hacer la tarjeta pero me encantó como quedó. Para la guirnalda de nieve, utilizé Crystal Effects de Stampin Up y papel de cera. Primero hice el diseño en el papel y luego le eché la escarcha. Tan pronto el Crystal Effects se seca, es fácil de despegar del papel. Los pingüinos son del set "Mimi's Christmas de Penny Black. También utilizé cartulina blanca de Stampin Up, Copics para colorear los pinguinos, "enamel accents" en negro, Memento ink (Tuxedo Black), muchos "dimensionals", y el papel con diseño es de uno de esos bloques que venden en Michael's.
